u can run map 5 and 7 without race gas... so run it for a day or so... but dont run map 7 if u dont have supporting mods and u should have at least 93 octane for map 4 or 5

The newest JB3 1.4 beta lagfix maps take a bit longer to adapt, perhaps a day of driving or so. Of course it depends on how much you drive. |

ok so i will just adjust it the day before the track to be sure all is well. i have crappy 91 octane here and my car is stock so when i put the 100 unleaded in i will just go to map 5 and call it good. with slicks im hoping for a 12 second slip@4500 ft

bro with a 100octane don't worry about it run map 6 *u will never look back*
worst possible thing that can happen is a limp mode turn the car off and change the map end of story.. |

ok lets say i want to do like 2 runs on map 3, and adjust it to do 2 runs on map 5, then 2 runs on map 6, would simply changing it at the track after runs give the car/jb3 enough time to make all necesarry adjustments and properly run ? or should i just put it on map 6 before i head to the track (2 hour drive) and call it good and leave it on 6 all day?

Which version are you running ? If you are running a slightly older version and your car is fully adapted - only a few WOT should be sufficient for map adjustment. IMHO, say 45 minutes before hitting the track I would have my race gas in and switched to the highest map. Before track arrival, I would beat on the car for a bunch of pulls before racing. Fwiw, unless you can do a few WOTs between runs map adapting at the track -especially going up in maps - may not work well.

i think i have the very latest version (its still getting shipped to me) from brad@psimotors. so looks like i better get that thing in asap when it gets here to give my car a day or two to adapt. i think im just gonna do map 5 while i only have 91 octane, and then put in the 100 octane gas in before the 2 hour drive to the track, and do about 5 or 10 pulls on the way to get it all settled.
i wish you could just adjust it and go run, sucks that you have to have everything adapt. i wish i could just start on map w1, then run map 3, and go up from there just to see the difference in times/power. |

I would measure the adaptation not in days but rather WOT pulls. When I switch from map 3 1.4rev8.4 to map 5 it takes about 2-3 good WOT pulls to feel stronger. Should be good the day of.

ok then i will get to the track on map 3, run it once, then switch to 5, and each run will count as a WOT pull and the times will hopefully keep improving until its fully adapted, then if we get tons of runs in, i will switch to map 6 or 7 since i will have the 100 octane and see how that reacts. im guessing i will get atleast 7 runs at this track.

Did I read correctly that you will have slicks? If so, you may want to try map 7 over map 6. As long as you have 100 octane, map 7 won't be a huge let down and will probably be stronger than map 5 even without supporting mods.
It's good that you are going to sample that many maps though and fortunate to get that many runs at the track. Good Luck! |
