I ordered the same a few months ago and found the dongle worked except the audio on the right side speakers didn't work properly. Sound would crackle and pop, also when it did work was low volume compared to normal left side.

It also didn't support skipping tracks via steering wheel, which is exactly why I bought it for.

Very disappointed in the product.

Back to old AUX cable to the phone until I can find a better alternative.

I coded my Radio and connected the box to the back of the headunit and then the pre wiring in the trunk. I could not get the box to work. CDC showed up on the radio display so I coded it correctly.

I didn't even see a power led let up so I think the box is defective. My multi-meter said 12v when I checked the connection.

I am really bummed. I think I am just going to start saving for a I drive retrofit.

You probably did not add the Most cables into the Most loop correctly .
from the factory they are not hooked into the active part of the most loop at the most junction for the cdc.

Explain exactly what you mean by prewiring.
When a cdc is added the most wires that go to the cdc have to be added to the most loop at the most junction .I don't know if a fuse has to be added for power to the power cable that goes to the trunk bundle.

I hooked the box up to a 12v and there were no signs of life on the box.

Do the instructions say there is suppose to be indicators?
Where and how did you hook it up?
Do you have pictures?
Do you have anything else on your most loop .
and is it active ?
should say ring status activ in the 2urad file to have
and activ most loop..
You should see light out of at least one side of the most
loop cable that plugs into the box.

When the box has power it is supposed to supply 0.5 Amp to the usb to charge my phone. It did not charge.

Also there are two status LEDs.

I had it hooked up to an add a circuit with my dash cam and then hooked up to a jump pack for testing.

Update: I believe I hooked up the MOST incorrectly. I watched the GROM install video which is what I believe this box is just with a different cover on and he just tapped into the pre existing MOST lines that went into the head unit.

Update 2: I got the unit to power up using the GROM audio guide. I am now re codding the car.

Update 3: The box works with my Pixel 2 XL. Song title and steering wheel controls!

So you are now getting steering wheel controls and stuff on the menu
of the pro radio . Can you comment on how the menu's work and is the a2dp any good? Thanks

Did they give you documentation that was any good?
Where did you mount the box and what are you doing to run
the usb and aux to a usable place?

like ctuna asked, how do you rate the audio quality of BT? What was the music source from pixel 2 xl? Is the steering wheel controls finicky like the tune2air ones?

The quality of the Bluetooth is comparable to a CD. I was streaming music from Apple Music and Tune In.

I listen to a playlist on Apple Music and it had no issues changing songs.

I can't comment on the calling functionality since I have that from factory. My only complaint is that when I get a call the music does not auto play once the call is done.

The documentation was confusing as to how to hook up the MOST. The unit is now hooked up exactly like the GROM video minus the power.

I am going to make an install guide and reveiw soon.

Is there any loss of functionality with this box? and it seems like it is only for CCC drives. correct?

If you had a cd changer that would stop functioning. You need either idrive or a pro head unit for this to work.

There are two versions of the Nav Idrive I think it only works with the
adapter with earlier idrive/nav according to the add I think.
It works with the Pro Radio as described in the Nicko43's reviews.

https://www.youcanic.com/guide/whats...en-bmw-ccc-cic

The earlier one is dvd based and the later has a hard drive.

It would be interesting to see what the sub menu's are like under the cd selection.
which cd is assigned to usb , a2dp, aux and sub menus like artist or album.

aux through new box might be better than the OEM aux.

OEM Aux sounds like hot garbage so I would have the believe the box has better aux sound quality.

My Tuni was great for 5 weeks then it started making a weird background noise and the sound quality tanked.

Frustrated... do I get another for $35 or try this new $130 adapter?

If you do not mind having steering wheels controls the tuni is still a good option. I assume the LCI cars have a better quality AUX.

I would sell you my Tuni for $20 shipped.

I use GROM for 3 years now, mostly for Bluetooth streaming - works good, and the sound quality is nice, same as CD.

I finally took the leap with the Bovee Tune2Air.

I'm in an '08 e92 with nav, 6FL, voice command and bluetooth. I run an android (nougat) device.

Both stored music on the device and streaming (pandora) function great, with surprisingly decent audio quality for BT. Steering wheel, idrive and other controls all work flawlessly. Connection is quick and automatic, and controls are instant (no delay). The first connection was a bit wacky (as with many bluetooth devices), but it's great once you've got it saved/stored.

I get no track listing on either stored music or streaming on the idrive screen. It just has a playlist directory. I might fiddle with the stored music directory and see if I can get the screen to recognize it as it does via a USB stick (which shows all the artist/song information).

One of the best surprises is that when I use voice commands on my phone (google's are far superior to the 2008 voice command function in the BMW), it's now on the speakers. Before, if I asked google to read me my texts or make a call, she'd only talk through the phone. Now it's all on the speakers, which is awesome.

Call functionality on the existing bluetooth connection remains as it was before. The computer switches to the other BT phone connection during a call, and back after hangup.

This device propelled my 11 year old baby into the current generation of connectivity. Even with the display shortcomings, this is a no-brainer upgrade.

Just recently came across this

http://s.aliexpress.com/ryU7jIVn

Which is tune2air minus the logo
Give it some more time and cheaper clones will start showing up.
Since I got Protool, which means I can code and enable CDC; I might go that route. Will see.

Eh I have an android so it doesn't show any of the music info. Also, I want something that's aptx but yeah I'm sure there are cheaper clones of tune2air that can be found. It's good for people to have a link thanks!

First, I'll try to get audio out through usb from my android device, then consider all other options.
