At this price you are looking at about $600 installed. IF you don't have any problems with it (leaking, fitment, ect.) then not such a bad product, even if it only results in minimal cooling efficiency.

Nothing wrong with alot of ebay entercoolers. I've used them on several cars. We have local shops that fab turbo setups all the time and ebay intercoolers are great bang for the buck. No way in hell would I pay $1000-1200 for an upgraded intercooler.
Plus nobody is going to push 30psi on pump with these turbos at all, and this car without true saftey measures. Nor would I on any car (compression a factor), if it meant depending on the advantages of one intercooler over another versus properly running meth/water/alchohol injection or race gas. |

Anyone notice that the "spec" wording and values are EXACTLY the same as the one listed for the Spearco?

lol, here we go again. Chinese knock-off....almost as good as the big guys for a small fraction of the amount. The vendors will be on here talking about how the quality is crap and how they don't perform, blah blah. Then somebody will actually do some scientific tests, find its almost as good as the big guys, and then the vendors come back on with same sob stories about how the Chinese are stealing everything and they need to put bread on the table, buy American, etc, etc when really they want their crazy high markups to stick around. This is not to say that a quality core from a big name like Garrett, etc is inexpensive, because its not, but 1600 for a small IC is rape.

I have a lot of friends that have used ebay inter coolers on a number of cars, and non of them have not had any problems. As long as they don't leak your fine.

People just need to be smart about it though. If someone gets an ebay intercooler, the size of which is inappropriate for the airflow of the stock twins or blocks too much of the radiator, then I can expect complaints.
Oh, here's an ebay FMIC "kit" that I used on my RB20 240sx a little over a year ago. Piping and everything included, lined up fine, especially considering that it was a swap combo and that different people used different mounting methods. No leaks, power increase was there: I think I paid $275-300 for the whole kit. |

Is an intercooler really needed for someone who just drives their car normally and maybe accelerates hard every once in a while? I have the general understanding that the stock IC is pretty good. I can also understand if you are tracking the car, or doing back to back 1/4 mile runs how you could benefit from an upgraded IC.
I think I will stick with stock for now. |

As for this IC, I suspect someone will purchase it and it will perform just fine. So who is the guinea pig? |

It's back up. I'm tempted as 349 is just about cheap enough to experiment. Online research is mostly positive. Big question I have is cutting required?

They didn't get rich by making poor decisions. Either way, a smart person determines whether something is overpriced compared to the alternative and if any drop in quality is acceptable.
