$10 paypal if you can tell me where this plug goes!

Still need help guys. Did an Intake manifold swap. When reassembling could not for the life of me figure out where this plug goes. There is just no place to plug it in, that I can see?! My DSC light is on after the intake manifold swap, so I am assuming it is DSC related. $10 paypal to the first person that can get this plug identified, (it is directly under the throttle body) and my DSC functional again!

This person did the same conversion and in the 3rd pic from the top, you see what appears to be the same plug going into the back of the intake box

I doubt it, could he even start the engine without the MAF plugged in? He only got the DSC code.

On a side note, can the same thing be done to a 328i? Where does the extra 45hp come from, I thought the N52 is maxxed out pretty much?

most cars will run with the mass air sensor unplugged, the computer goes into a default setting when the sensor is not detected, not that they will always run perfect, it depends on the temp's and all and what the factory set the car to run with at default without the sensor

yes, it can be done on both 325/328i.

not sure where you're getting the 45hp. if it's from the link i posted, that guy is also getting an AA tune on top of this so it'll be effectively comparing a stock 328 to a tuned 330i so he must be comparing difference in crank #s.

i am almost sure that is the plug for the DISA valves motors, on 328 with stock manifold there one thats just hanging next to the manifold and when you put a 330i manifold you need to plug that in. hope this helped

ps did you get your computer reprogramed?

it mihght also be a plug for the throtle but this is less posible

I understand he must also get it tuned, but he was doing this to his Z4. Was the Z4 similar to a 325i or a 328i?

BTW part of the reason I doubt that was the MAF connector was because it is very very hard to miss the MAF plug

Here is what it is not

It is not one of the plugs to the DISA motors. There are two of those type plugs and they are smaller. Both plugged in.
It is not the plug to the MAF. That one is larger, and also plugged in.
It is not the plug to the Throttle body, that one is larger and plugged in.

The only error on the dash is DSC disabled. So thats what I was thinking it went to...

Was it actually plugged in before the swap? If you can't remember, look at the contacts if they look very oxidized it likely was not used before, the plug might not be needed. I am only guessing of course.

Do you plan to get it tuned? If so what is the estimated power gain from stock?

06-08 z4 non-m only came in 3.0i/3.0si which would be the equiv of 328i/330i.

Usually plugs that are not used are capped. This one was not capped.

So with the 3 stage swap and tune the 328i can have up to 45hp added basically for under $1,000? Any downside to such mod?

Think its more like 35 HP

The price to do this is about $900 for parts
The software tune you need is at least $400.00 depending on vender.
The labor to do this is a two person job, and if I had to do it again, I would let a mechanic do the work. Its a one person pain in the a$$

So if your time is free, then $1300 gives you about 35 HP

This plug goes to the Crankshaft Sensor

The E90 can run without the Crankshaft Sensor, but poorly. The car goes into default limp mode. You get a Service Engine Light, and a Brake light. Along with a DSC Malfunction code. So, my problem was that the Crankshaft Sensor plug, was not plugged in!

It plugs into the crankshaft sensor, on the crankshaft.
