I followed RVS's thread and decided to order the Tunai Firefly after sending the Carly people that do-it-yourself bluetooth adapter back. Haven't seen my refund yet, but I must say - the Firefly works great! Sound seems clearer than when I used to plug my phone in with Y-cable. Bluetooth connects quickly, and I couldn't be happier. Think I paid $41 online.

I didn't read through the entire thread so I apologize if this has been listed. I use a Bluetooth audio receiver from Bose and love it. My phone automatically pairs when I start the car and the sound quality is awesome.

I also purchased the Tunai Firefly based on the reviews in this thread. Unfortunately, I don't like it. I have built a 3 way sound system, with rear fill, and 2 subwoofers in the trunk - sounded great with my old Belkin bluetooth aux adapter, but the Belkin lacked auto connect, and wasn't specifically hifi. Switching to the Tunai, hoping to better the weak link in my system, and found the sound was more 'hifi' quality on the high end, but destroyed the lower frequencies, and everything down low sounded extremely "booming" even after multiple adjustment within my DSP.
Switched back to the Belkin, and sounds good again. Bummer, was looking forward to the hifi and auto connect... |

I bought the Tunai Firefly after reading this post. I like the convenience of the auto connect and the compactness of the unit. However, I am disappointed in the sound quality compared to the AirEnabler with USD DAC. The lows do not sound solid and does not have good bass response. Does anyone else have the same problem?

I'm quite satisfied. I encourage everyone if the tunai does not suffice to try out the Audioengine B1 Btw bass response is very good in my system. Of course it does vary by song but as you know I also had the airenabler setup. Then the Audioengine |

I'm playing from the Apple Music app on my iPhone 6S. I did not change the EQ setting when switching back and forth to compare the AirEnabler and the Tunai Firefly. Does the Tunai Firefly require burnin to sound better?

I had the same exact problem - the higher frequencies sounded clear, but the lower frequencies sounded extremely booming. Even after multiple adjustment to my EQ within my DSP, sounded bad. Switched back to an old Belkin bluetooth I was using, and everything back to normal. Last edited by Sco Cuddie; 03-04-2017 at 09:26 PM.. |

Just another recommendation, IF you operate an android phone (with APTX BT technology) it is hard to beat the Kinivo BTC450. I don't think the iphone does APTX BT, which is a real shame because the music quality is a real step up with this BT technology.
The Kinivo is nice because it has an external controller that you can mount on the side console right next to your right thigh from which passengers can't really notice and from there you can pause or click to the next song without operating your phone. |

Great find!
I tried a cheap BT receiver in my e91 5 years ago when I bought it. I got noise and ended up not using it. I ordered one of these Tunai Fireflys, and it works perfect with no noise. I ordered one more for my 1-series.

I tried different volumes settings today and by turning down the volume setting on the Aux In volume setting and increasing the sound on the iPhone or the headunit volume setting I was able to get better quality lows. I still don't know why I didn't need to do that on the AirEnabler but I'm just glad that the sound quality on the Tunai Firefly is acceptable now.

Hey Everyone
I've read through this thread and see a lot of awesome options, however i'm hoping someone can point me to the best option for me. Maybe i missed something. I'm hoping to play music from my Android phone via bluetooth, while controlling the tracks from my steering wheel and seeing the track info on the radio display. I have a 2011 328i E90 with the USB and Aux Port in the Center Console (Option 6FL) I also have the 30-pin iPod Y-Cable if it matters.. I have the Hi-Fi Professional Loudspeaker system (Option 676) (I also now realize that i have the Defective RAD2+ issue that i wish i knew was covered under warranty when i had my CPO still..) And lastly i have a Nexus 6P Android phone A bluetooth adapter for the Aux port is a super easy solution that i like, but i really hope to leverage the controls in my steering wheel. Is the Tunai my best bet? Would it display what track is playing, regardless of what app im using to play it? EDIT: I just found the ViseeO Tune2Air WMA3000B Bluetooth Adapter online.. Thoughts? https://www.amazon.ca/ViseeO-Tune2Ai.../dp/B00R3ABHXY EDIT2: Apparently the WMA3000B won't display track info for Android devices. Last edited by mazza2590; 03-27-2017 at 01:51 PM.. |

I think I'm going to pull the trigger on the Firefly for my '06 with L7. My car does not have the Bluetooth phone feature, will the firefly allow me to speak into my iPhone's microphone and hear the caller through the car stereo? Not a dealbreaker but it would be nice...

Mazza - there is no option for android sourced music and steering wheel control with the music info in the radio display. The visseo will do all that for an iphone.
