Funny that you started this thread. I pump near an airport and lots of taxi drivers pump there as well. I always get looks and sometimes the indian guy across from me came over and looked at my e85 pump with a weird look. And I always get people who will compliment me on my car or ask how much to get into one of those.

Don't get the look. No Pump in 50 miles from where I am. Hurlburt field apparently has one. As long as you're a military vehicle...

Bring me the juice.

Nice! Do you know if your hood is the same as a '08 hood. I think it is time for an upgrade! Better yet, I wonder if a stock m3 hood would work with it?!

Then what are you waiting for?! Lol

If I can verify that I think that's the route I'm gonna go, mtech bumper looks waaay sweeter and more aggressive than the m3 bumper. Imo. + that would allow for the Lci headlights!

I get more looks when it takes an extra 5 seconds to crank due to the E85.

I don't want my car to look like an M3, I want it to look like a 335is If anything a carbon fiber trimmed vented hood or custom hood to support an intake system for the VTTS3 Turbos

Do you intend on doing any suspension upgrades? ~500whp is also my goal, but even around what I'm guesstimating to be 400-420 (?) on 50% E85 (which my clutch doesn't appreciate currently) my car feels so sloppy under heavy acceleration. I'd like to stiffen it up, but I'm not sure if just doing M3 bushings will be enough. Curious if you've considered this and if you have any plans in that regard.

Since E30 - E40 have been tested on cars with inferior fueling systems with no signs of corrosion, and large mass of enthusiast cars EVOs, STIs, GT-Rs, Porches etc are also using mid blends of E85, nothing of corrosion has surfaced be it DI or PI platforms.

Just my 2 cents :-)
The anti corrosives in E10 are to counteract a 10% level of ethanol. Did you know that they have dedicated tankers, and storage facilities for E10? Once 10% ethanol is added to premium, they do not cross contaminate lines from the refineary, all the way to the pump.

Another thing to keep in mind is that companies like VP racing, Sonoco, etc that make C85, and E85R for non flex fuel vehicles have a real point about the idea of anti corrosives. They can see the goverment subsidesed lower rate of pump ethanol, and are pricing their finished product about the same as their race gas fuels. By your reasoning, all their engineers/researchers are wrong about everything because, there is no justicifcation for the price difference between their product, and pump E85. So you are either saving $, or slowly doing long term damage to your engine components.

on a related topic, i have an E40 protune from Jake@PTF. It's easy to figure out using an online calculator how to get E40 when you have no E85 in the tank. But how do you guys handle managing the content with a depleted E85/93 mix? Basically what I did last time was figure there was about 2.4 gallons of fuel left in the car, 40% of which was ethanol. I think it worked out to like 1.1 gal of ethanol. so I added 5.5 gal of E85 and then filled the rest up with 93. sound right?
they always make me pay twice, once for the e85 once for the 93.

but yeah, i dont think they really are shocked. had a port authority cop ask me if i knew what i was doing?

kinda just looked at him as if i was scared.

It's a good conversation starter. People usually ask me if the car was built for e-85. At that point I drop some knowledge on them haha.

Yes will be upgrading the suspension to Eibach Multi Pro R2 Coil Overs, Alignment Kit, Front and Rear Sway bars, and M3 control arms bushing for rear and front

Suspension work will be done first before doing the turbo upgrade

Nice .

Any idea on ballpark costs for the suspension upgrades? I haven't priced much of it out yet, mainly because I don't know much about suspension bits. At least not nearly as much about engine performance bits.

Wow, I will be dropping about 5k into the suspension one time, it hurts just thinking of it . There are cheaper solutions though, however I rather just get it over with in one shot and not have to worry about upgrading again.

Well...it depends how crazy you want to go, here's my setup:

TCKLINE D/A with Ground Control Race Plates: $3,000
M3 Control Arms and Tension Rods: $500
DEFIV Diff Lockdown: $700
WaveTrac LSD: $1,000
Labor: ~$1,000

I think my setup is pretty high quality without going nuts and was about $6,000 out the door.
