CTP and Insurance. Who are you with and how much?
Hi guys, my rego and insurance are up. Just wondering who has the cheapest CTP? Got a renewal notice from AAMI for $402.02.
My insurance is with Just Car and I'm pretty happy as I can list all my modifications and they are all insured and I am currently going through a claim for Kangaroo damage which is all going along smoothly and it was just a quick ten to fifteen minute phone call to process. The premum and excess are both about $2,000 but I have zero no claim bonus and my driving record isn't exactly spotless. With your CTP and insurance, please list your age, no claim bonus amount and vague driving record for comparisons sake. |

2008 135i. FBO $904 for comprehensive $615 for compulsory third party (CTP) 22yr old , but rural towns always cheaper 1x previous claim when I was 20 Was with AAMI with my Honda and got royally screwed over when I got my car hit minor bumper rash, and ended up with a really bad paint job, paint in my interior, and required an almost full car respray after a year of back and forth |

Man I'm about $1700 with Youi 31 with clean driving history but no aftermarket mods covered. Might give justcar a call and see what I can get there

28yo AAMI with flexi-premium maxed was by far the cheapest and I called em all! $82/month including windscreen cover. With my last car, when I moved to this suburb, my premium went down heaps. Area makes a big difference. |

Yeah I know that, as is the same for many of the states. Stupid NSW has to do things a bit differently so obviously the question doesn't apply to Victorians or... well. .if it doesn't apply to anyone then you don't need to answer, ok? :P
In NSW we don't have to provide a RWC to sell our cars though, so we can sell it with mods and all |

Yeah, you're right about the suburb The quotes I got for saying I lived in Newcastle or Sydney were sooooo different. Variation of about $500 depending on the insurer Anyone got any cheap CTP recommendations? |

That's a good price Kent!
All my quotes via: http://prices.maa.nsw.gov.au/ are in the ~$600+ range.. Does where you live affect CTP? I've got clean driving history, max NCB, NRMA roadside 3+ years etc.. |

Just got my CTP renewal notice, $700 with NRMA Comprehensive cover with GIO, about $1900 a year, roadside assist, agreed cover for $56,000, max NCB. I'm 26 and have a clean driving record.. unless they consider demerit points, I have lost about 7 or 8 |

When I redid the quote with a Sydney postcode, it came up as $571, so yeah, address definitely makes a huge difference! |

CTP in NSW are generally the same in price. If you have a excellent driving record (no fines) I think QBE rewards you and is about 130-150 cheaper than the other insurers

Don't forget guys, the thing insurers often don't tell you unless you ask, you can usually increase the excess in exchange for a cheaper premium. This is a no-brainer to me unless you live near some sort of Kangaroo congregation or if you're known to regularly crash at fault.

Shannons are like justcar and insure vehicles with mods, but were much cheaper than justcar. I also have rental property insurance with shannons they were much cheaper than anyone else by a longshot! by memory my excess was the standard rate of $750 (TBC) Hmm TBH I'm not 100% sure about the age thing. Being over 35 y.o would definitely help me I imagine... I believe if you're affiliated with a drivers club i.e you're an active member of the NSW BMW drivers club it helps. They seem to be rather old school and serious about insuring enthusiasts - well in hindsight its probably a smart business model as most enthusiasts probably care for the vehicles more than the average motorist and possibly are a less riskier proposition to insure. |
