Brake Fluid

Hey gang,

I have just ordered cool carbon pads for my stock 335i brakes and want to know 2 things.

1) What is the ideal/best brake fluid to get?
2) Do I also need to upgrade the lines?

I have read a few different theories on the lines most say they are sufficient and not worth changing.

Cheers!

+1 for Superblue, I'm running it at the moment on my car too

http://www.autosphere.com.au/p/69811...ake-fluid.html

Its pretty good and affordable, the blue makes it super easy to bleed. You can alternate between ATE Type 200 and Super Blue for easy changes. Type 200 is the same formulation in the normal amber colour.

Its good but for heavy track use there are other fluids that have higher operating temperatures (more $$ though)

1L should be plenty, lines don't need to be upgraded, stock brake lines in most cars are reinforced braided anyway. I did stainless braided lines in my old car (Audi A4), made no difference. Just makes it impossible to use a brake line clamper (can't use them on stainless lines)

Socks, Vince Thanks!
Can't wait to get the pads on!

Btw I managed to get rid of the engine warning light and now I have just ordered the part for the external temp sensor wires.

ATE is very good and cheaper than what is regarded as the Best fluid, Castrol SRF. I'd only use SRF if you are seriously tracking though.
