Not the usual heating issue 320d can anyone help?

Hello all,I have a 2005 320d (M47) and have a problem with the heating only getting slightly warm on the drivers side,I have been told about blocked heater cores, heater valves, flaps etc but here is the thing.....when the temperature reading on the dashboard reads 5 degrees or below the heating works absolutely fine.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks all.
