"map" mode

Hi everyone!

Just registered...Have just taken the "plunge" and bought an 07 335d se!

Loving it and yes it will be re-mapped soon

Came from an E46 M3 and I'm really not noticing any shortfall in power and an "easier" drive in terms of easier available power!

The idrive was quite simple to get aquainted with and although it can be a little slow sometimes I like it!!

I burned a new copy of 2010 complete with speed cams and it works very well!

My main question is (for now) can the navigation be set for just "map" mode? ie no destination set?

This was available on the E46 mk4 nav but cant see the option anywhere on the idrive system?

Thanks for reading guys

Press the voice control button and say 'map'

Or ...

Scroll to one of the map views in the navigation menu and click on it.

Welcome

I forgot about the voice control. I like to have the map on the left screen and the computer on the right screen when driving, and usually activate it by going into the navigation menu then down to the bottom and selecting perspective.

Is there a way to assign the map to one of the favourite buttons? I have tried doing this but it wont let me do it unless i have a destination entered in to the navigation.

Where did you get your 2010 update with cams from?

Yes, just press and hold a favourite button when you have your desired map view already visible on the left side.

You can't do it by 'favouriting' one of the view commands.
