I'm thinking of getting new wheels for my 2013 335i convertible, and have no experience with this sort of purchase. I'm starting to do research but honestly am getting a little lost with the concepts of offset, differing tire widths, etc, and how all that factors into both the look for the finished wheel/tire setup and also how it will fit into my current car without the need to modify the bumpers or wheelwell at all.

Any thoughts on basic dimensions that would fit an otherwise stock 2013 e93 335i would be appreciated.

It's a kinda big subject. But basically if you go 18 inch wheels.... go 235 40 18 front and 265 35 18 rear. For 19 inch, go 235 35 19 front and 265 30 19 rear. And offsets of around the et35 all round is a good starting point. Oh and the fronts should be 18x8.5 and rears will be 18x9.5.....and will be the same for 19 inch wheels.

thanks - i know it was a very vague question that would invite a lot of answers. But I was really just looking for some average/general parameters to use as a starting point, which you gave me. thanks!

You want within 1% of rolling diameter with the tires so what he said above will work

Then i could go on to say if ur the type to want your wheels a more flush look... ie alloys more sitting near the fender/wheel arch for a nice stance/look.. Then you would be looking at 8.5x18 et20 but with a 225 40 18 and a 9.5x18 et 25-30 with a 255 35 18 etc. :-). And if u don't find the particular offsets in the wheels u like... ie et35 but the wheel is et40...it's ok to add a 5mm spacer to make it et35 etc :-). But yeah the sizes above are a great starting point. 🙂
