Anyone install a radar detector behind the rear seats near the rear windshield?

Or is everyone installing in the front?

If you have iDrive, it will set off V1 if it's pointed at it.

Just put it right above the rear view mirror on the right hand side of the mirror. Thats where mine is and it gets amazing front and rear protection. Laser...well, if you want protection from that then get the jammers, lol. I got a ticket from laser and was pretty well screwed. paid fine and reduced points on the spot lol. but radar wise its great where I have it

Yeah, that should work just fine.

Hope you got my PM. If you're going to get an LI, then just mount it where I had it and disable the laser and use your LI for laser alerts. Best of both worlds really.

Inside a center rear headrest, dummy speaker enclosure .... on one of the M5 boards (e34? e39?) some guys mounted theirs under the rear package shelf -- which was fiberboard. Some mount it under a hat on the shelf -- but that's a little crude.

There are a lot of possibilities. I use the passenger's visor at the moment but I'm moving it into the rear center headrest if I can ever find any time.

Haven't heard of that. I think a front-mounted unit is most important. Cops are mostly going to be in front, mostly.

This is how I mount my V1 as well. The tint strip at the top of the windshield gives a pretty good "stealth" factor.

That is what I did. The control module is mounted in the ash tray and when the cover is closed it is completely stealth.
