lumbar air bladder blown out

Yesterday evening I went to pump the lumbar up just a tad and then the entire thing deflated and now it will not hold any air. I can hear the motor still going when I hit the switch so I don't think the fuse is blown.

I have searched the forum & found limited information on this, including the DIY section. Am I totally hosed here & have to take it to the stealer?

Can anyone provide some pointers or other info as to how I might repair this myself? I do have a history of back issues and the lumbar is very helpful for me.

Also, these are non-sport seats if that matters.

thanks in advance

I had this problem on my 325i where both the lumbar and bolster supports were not inflating but could still hear the motor running. It might have to take the seat apart in order to diagnose it. At worse hopefully the hose just came undone (which was the case for my seat) and can be easily re-attached.

I have been having the exact same issue on my drivers side, though mine is both the lumbar and the bolsters. I checked out the DIY that Zamboni has posted and was planning on following those instructions to see if maybe the fill hoses from the pumps to the bladders had worked loose. Let us know if you have any luck.

any hints for getting the lower clips for the seat back without breaking them? I went to give this a try last night & I really don't want to break those clips.

thanks!

I bought a replacement set figuring I would probably destroy them taking them out.

Yes, that is the PN I used (sorry just saw your reply). I was ordering some bits from Tischer so I just added a couple of them to my order. Haven't had a chance to get to it yet, hopefully this weekend.

If I decide to take the seat out, which appears to be the easiest way, am I going to need to do any code resetting, etc.?

thanks
