From a car standpoint, some enthusiasts would rather see more detail of the lines of the car, rather than the overall beauty surrounding the item of interest, namely, your ride.

Keep up the good work; we should get together so I could see your lip... molded? taped? in either case, I like what you did. Do you go to any meets? Check out Bimmer Alliance on FB.
Lol, thanks,Flip! Duly noted on the close-up front.

I don't get to many meets. But I do make it to Katies for C&C every once in a while. The lip is molded to the mSport bumper,I think I've posted a close up before, I'll see if I can track it down to post.

Edit...found it:

I'd recommend a 50prime lens and shoot at the lowest possible f stop you can and be close to the subject. Everything in your shot is in focus. would like to see some DOF and the car be the subject. remember to use a tripod! looking forward to seeing your photos in the future!
Thanks, Deerfield, although I'll be the first to admit that I had to look up half of what you said . I've always liked shots with a shallow depth of field; I just never knew what it was called or how to accomplish it. Any recommendation for lenses to slap onto a Canon G11 or should I bite the bullet and pick up a DSLR first? Tripod, I know, is probably a must-purchase either way.

I'll be sure to give it an shot next time the car is clean and see what I can do. I look forward to your future feedback!
