Street Night... run what ya brung. NED does this every Wednesday and Friday night from 6 to around 10 or so, assuming it doesn't rain.
Last year it was i think 25 bucks to run and 15 to watch? Rules are: If you TELL them your car will run under 14 ETs, then they'll make you wear a helmet. If you happen to state you expect to run mid 14s, and happen to run under a 14, well, i've never been booted and have a number of sub 14 ET runs. Some guys play it even safer (or less ethically, depending on your personal views) and stash any old full face motorcycle helmet in the trunk, tech in, say they are going to run a mid 14, then after tech-ing in, put the helmet on for the passes. Or bite the bullet, (do the right thing?) and buy a helmet with a SNELL 2005 or newer rating. Dont wear shorts or sandals. Do PUSH AND HOLD your TC button to fully disable it. Dont expect to run an amazing time your first pass. Not only is the track not fully prepped for Street Night, but its harder than you think to get your 60ft time down (aka your launch) so you can actually get a good ET. (unless you have an X drive stick, in which case, yeah, you'll beat a Nissan GTR for the first 60 feet... someone on these forms did that last season. They do sell 109 octane (MS109) for 13.75 a gallon... any 335 with a JB4, Map 5 and some extra cash ought to be able to take advantage of this... just run the car on the street (route 101 would be ideal, its the highway right next to the track) You need it to adapt to the fuel with a few solid 3rd gear pulls. Read all about Street Night here: http://www.newenglanddragway.com/friday-street-night/ Read all about the fuels they sell here: http://www.vpracingfuels.com/vp-drag-racing NED has: C16, C14, C12, 110, MS109, 100, and M1 |

You should definitely be able to get into a high 13 at least.... i feel like a 4K launch is where you'll need to be, but the other xdrive stick guys can speak to this better than I. What was your trap speed? Thats usually a good indication of what your car will be capable of running with a solid launch. Trap speed = the power your car makes. ET= the ability of you and your car to launch, and even more telling of your launch is your 60ft time.

Good points, thanks for the info. I have a modified CDV that I need to install too, I really dislike the herky-jerky shifting on mine. I didn't make it to NED this past Friday but I believe I am free to go up this Friday, hopefully I can find the time to swap out the CDV. It seems like an easy change over minus bleeding the brakes after - that kind of seems like a PITA

Ok so for helmets are motorcycle helmets what everyone buys? I am looking for Snell 2005 or higher and DOT approved. Don't wanna pull the trigger until someone gives me the green light! Thanks

Just got my Snell helmet in the mail yesterday, and the forecast is supposed to hold, so I should be heading down from Portland today! I only ran once last year, and had never been to the track before. Only ran a 14.4 with my N54 (just map 1 and BMS intakes at the time) that wasn't running perfectly at the time, but mainly had difficulty launching my with XDrive and 6MT. I kinda settled for rolling off the line a bit to save the clutch the abuse.
Anyway, I don't post on here too much but look forward to meeting some of you dudes.

I'm going with a friend and his friends, we plan on being there at 5. I'm sure I'll struggle to launch too, northeast335xi, but I'll have fun trying
Hope to see you guys there |
