Nice picture. I wish I lived near the coast but in Derby I'm about as far away from it as I could be.

I've got 5 cockatiels. They each have their own interesting little personalities.
My pets have special gifts

Frankie was one year old yesterday, he & his brother Rogue had a little get together at the seaside the day before.

Frankie's chum Harvey the rottie has been getting very aggressive the last few times they've met up, apparently his owners fight & argue a lot so we avoid him now. Fortunately Frankie now has a couple of new chums, obi the beagle & scooby the spaniel

Whilst he was there the missus asked if they could clip his claws, as the vet was clipping them she asked him a few questions about type of food, clipping his nails ourselves, exercising just general questions. She also mentions a limp that he occasionally has & it turns out he has an existing problem with his right shoulder.
Apparently he will most likely has shoulder dysplacia & there's a good chance he will have arthritis by the time he's 4/5 years old.
The vet recommend we bring him back in 3 months for X-rays. He also said there's a operation he can have if it becomes necessary but it will be very expensive.
He also suggested giving him a steroid injection.
So the bill...£94
Clip nails £15, have now bought some dog nail clippers.
Tick treatment £13
Steroid injection £16, all reasonable costs so far but then we get charged a consultation fee of £50 for the questions she asked him while he was having his claws clipped we won't be taking him back there.

Did a bit of research last night & am going give him calcium supplements & regulate his exercise & just see how he gets on.
Hi
Firstly
well done for rescuing the GS

May I suggest you join some Alsatian or GS forum as to find sound advice on specific breed traits it may save you a lot of money and worry. Vets do sometimes take the piss
