oh in case no one has seen the 335 DCT knob in person it's the SAME as the one for the '08 650s. I have it already since May actually. and the inside of the knob needs to be modified to fit. It's not a direct PnP for that knob. Just FYI for all those who are interested. I hoped to get mine done ASAP but it seems that BMW has decided to release the DCT option for the 335i's so I won't be the only one with it. but hopefully the first.

UPDATE: I'm applying for vendorship right now/authorization for the group buy to go ahead and manufacture the kits. I'm also tracking down and calculating costs for the units, so hopefully by the end of the week we can start taking names! Also, I'm working on getting the OEM pins and OEM connectors so there won't be a need to do any sort of pin to pin operation at all! Please stay tuned

You guys are both correct, one is the DCT for the 335i - non M and the other one you're interested is for the DCT for the m3

Andrew, could you expand on how the inside of the knob needs to be modified?

The inside of the knob has a tab that needs to be shaved down. And I've test fitted it on my car and the knob sits pretty high. So I'm even considering shaving/drilling(dremeling) more on the inside to give it more room to fit so it doesn't sit so high. How's this weekend, looking for you alex?

Hey Andrew, I'll send you a msg on Aim. I'd like to get a few kits lined up before I go ahead and start because working on a single kit would take most of the day whereas if I have a few in front of me I can do it in an assembly line fashion. Also I don't have vendorship status yet on the forums so technically I can't be selling anything till that happens.

Ok. Let me get this straight. Your going to get authorization to sell these kits. Once you do that, we tell you which kits we want. After that, a few days later, we send you our boots depending who decides to get theyre's sewn by you. You do that, send them back to us and we just swap them out. Your offering all parts for this installation, right? Even the shift knob itself? All we have to do is plug and play and were ready to drive!?

YUP! And you'd have to send me money too of course but joking aside, yes that's the plan for Option B.

The knob in the pics shown that the OP has posted in what he wants to do, what is the correct name for that knob. Because thats the one I want. I want my shift kit to look exactly as the OP has posted in post # 1 on the first page.

I'm in for this.
I've been wanting to do this for a while but was very hesitant about the instalation and wiring.

A couple of weeks ago I posted on what the differences where on the M5 (E60 Auto) and M3 (E92 Auto) knobs were and no one seemed to have an answer. From the pictures below, they both look identical except the arrows in the middle. The pattern seems to be the same.

What I'm planning on doing is purchasing the M5 knob from Tischer (I haven't seen any vendor selling the E92 M3 Auto knob as of today) and purchasing the harness from you. That would work, right? (I own a Euro Spec 2008 E90 330i).

Are you sure you can't just slip your own 3 series boot into the M5 knob instead of having to stitch it again? There are several members that have already done this conversion and never mentioned having to sew it again.

Let me know when they are available.

I'm in for the 335i DCT knob!

I know that for those who are doing the SMG knob, you'll lose the pushbutton lockout, correct? In other words, it will always be "depressed". Does anyone know how the 335i DCT knob will work? It appears to have a pushbutton on it, but I'm not sure if it's a switch (like the P button on the auto 5-ers) rather than a mechanical pushbutton.

Regarding Knob Confusion

Don't worry guys, when this all goes for sale you can all PM me exactly what you want and it'll be very clear cut. For now the kit will work for the M5 SMG knob, this has been confirmed. I have the EU DCT knob for non-Ms coming soon and will test fit it and confirm the wiring. As for the e92 M3 SMG knob I doubt it'll be any different but we'll see if there's more interest for it.
