Mikael, you stated yours has the secondary cats AND a mid resonator instead of the x-pipe with an RWD N55? now that's weird, to me anyways..
sounds good in those videos tho! |

Haha yes, it was a donor exhaust from I believe a pre-LCI Xdrive. I had already done muffler delete on exhaust that came with car(has x-pipe and no secondaries). Thanks! It's currently for sale

Hey guys I want to do the Pe mod but im not sure how it will sound. My car is stock except that I did the PPK tune. I just want to hear how it sounds with just the pe mod and ppk. Ive seen videos with the pe mod and catless dp. Can any one send a video with just the ppk and pe mod. Thanks in advance.

Not to hijack this thread but get this crap- I called a local “custom” muffler shop here in SW New Hampshire about doing a PE mod and told the guy to look it up and get back to me with a quote. He calls back a half hour later with some bullshit that straight pipes are illegal if that’s what I’m asking and he has no interest in cutting into bmw mufflers because of their design and exotic materials they are made out of. He obviously never even looked it up. Fml!

Just got the PE mod done on my car, and overall I like it. I do think the drone is a bit too much for my taste at times, specifically around 2-3k RPM.
Does anyone have any ideas to decrease the drone after getting the PE mod done? ***EDIT: So I just realized the vacuum line that hooks up to the actuator that's in the muffler is missing. Would that make a difference in less drone with it plugged in properly even with the resonator now a straight pipe?

Did you straight pipe your middle cross-perforated pipes?

I had my welder do exactly what mod bargain did on their video. When I did the mod the mod was still a little underground and not a lot of info on it.

I have the PE mod and when I get tired of the extra sound,I use my JB4 to close the flap and all is calm.

Has anybody done this but not put the packing back in? Is that basically the same as a muffler delete? I'm looking to get a valve controller to have it like stock when I want it quiet but very loud when its open. Anybody done this?

Sorry I don't get it. Why exactly do you want to remove the insulation before welding back?

I think the packing material helps any drone that could happen. I read a review somewhere saying it was better with the packing material still in. Don't quote me on that though

I personally did my PE mod by leaving all the insulation in and really it sounds so smooth and professional. Never ever any rasp or drone and it is loud enough, if this is what you are scared about.
