Its obvious that this is a German guy ,possibly, from inside BMW who has the access or the connections into reprogramming the car's ECU on the BMW computers. Nothing extraordinary. This is the same way that the ECU tunning is done to BMW cars the last years.
The fact is...who is gonna trust him in sending his ECU to him. I personaly wouldn't.

Really... "Just remove and ship your ECU to me!" and send the 2k.
The is a much better option for about $635 less and you don't need to send your ECU anywere. Check my sig! I'll give you a hint, it starts with the letter "P".

wtf is up with the $100 dollar shipping? I've ordered stuff from Europe to China that are like 5-10 lbs and at most shipping would cost 20-25 bucks. Why would an ECU cost 100 bucks even if shipped internationally?
EDIT: o i saw that its to and from, but still 100 bucks is alot. |

So, let me see if I understand this. The guy will get:
- Your $2000 cash - Your $100 (for shipping) - Your ECU You'll get nothing and never hear from him again. Except that he'll probably auction your "ECU" in about 10 days on eBay too... But, on the plus side -- he speaks german -- so it must be legit! This just sounds like such a bad idea. Also, being serious, the feedback is mostly positive. But its for small items and its also pretty old. I'd avoid this without further thought. |

Yep, once you program the DME to the car it's "married" due to EWS and a few other things. There are ways around this but the only people I've seen that can do it are deep within BMW.
