coding DME does ZB number need to be exact?

Im having issues with my car starting and could be related to my tune or something I accidentally did... According to ISTA and WinKFP my ZB # from the factory should be 8684922. I have tried to reprogram using that ZB but WinKFP cant find it and it doesn't show up as a option. In ISTA it shows The part number as 8684922 but the DME is programed to 8685016. Im not sure how to program to 8684922 or if it matters... Its also listed as a MEVD176k but WinKFP only has MEVD17 as a option.
My Daten files should be plenty new enough to have the right files but I might be over thinking things as well.
Any info to put in me the right direction would be great!

So the car will crank? But not start?

Software version 8685016 seems to check out for the right hardware number

Yeah the car cranks just fine. Its just running extremely rich and after a plug swap and random luck I can get it to start but once i turn it off it wont start again and plugs are completely black.

But knowing that even though my DME part number is 8684922, having 8685016 programed shouldn't be a issue at least lets me know I dont need to try and program 8684922 to it.

I either checked or replaced everything I could think of that would keep it from running and Im finally down to the DME is physically damaged.
New plugs, injectors, HPFP, intake and exhaust timing gears.. triple checked the timing is correct (I have a good friend that is a tech at a BMW dealer that helps with everything) and the car gets air, fuel and compression is good.
Was hoping i might be able to fix with a software update but new DME might be my next option.. unless there is anything else someone can think of.. Thanks for the reply TiAgAu

only other thing i can can think of would maybe be the fuel rail sensor... It seems to be working and have correct readings during crank according to ista (sits at about .6 MPa with ignition on then goes up to around 14MPa during crank) Since its getting readings i doubt its the reason the engine is flooding...

It doesnt need to be an exact match but it needs to be in the same family..

Not sure where he found it but I used the table TiAgAu posted and used a zb number from the table. didnt fix my problem and now I think the DME is just bad somehow..
