Black Front Seats Surrounded by Oyster.. Opinions?
Hey guys,
I'm considering swapping out my front seats (only) for M3 seats. I currently have oyster leather, burl walnut, M Sport package interior. The seats I'm considering are M3 seats in speed cloth (v1). Thoughts? I currently love the contrast between the oyster leather and the black dash, doors, and anthracite pillars/headliner. I feel it's a wonderful balance between sporty and luxury.. honestly it just feels like a nice place to be. When I bought the car, the interior color was it's only draw-back (in my eyes), but I quickly fell in love with the oyster leather and now it's one of my favorite interior colours. That said, I've always considered the M3 seats and have wondered what it would look like to slap some more black in the middle of my "ivory middle," if you will. -aM

Reading comprehension an issue here or am I high?
OP, I like the original oyster color, but you'd know best on the difficulty of keeping it clean, per your lifestyle (kids, pets?). I knew I couldn't do it. That M3 speed cloth only come in grey? I like anything that doesn't sweat as much as leather inners too. Cloth inners don't cause you to slide around as much either.

lol yeah, guys.. I currently have the oyster and am considering swapping front seats ONLY to speed cloth black. I have no issues keeping the oyster clean, but I work in an office and don't have kids. It's no harder to keep clean than the anthracite pillars/headliner. I'm considering the M3 seats because I think speed cloth is cool, and because I'd rather have the more aggressive bolsters present on the M3 seats.
I'm just wondering if black front seats, surrounded by oyster rear seats and front/rear door cards, will look odd and out of place, or if it will just work. I'm having a hard time visualizing it heh.

Doing both front and rears surrounded by oyster would look nice, but only fronts I dunno. Last edited by TheMidnightNarwhal; 11-19-2018 at 10:44 AM.. |

OT, but I find the "hard to keep clean" rumor of oyster interior to be untrue. I go over mine with a wet soapy rag once or twice a year, focusing on areas that get the most buildup - bolsters and armrests.
