do I need to remove wheels to replace halos?
I have an e90 lci without xenon's and the driver side halo's have stopped working. I believe from what I've read that I just need to replace the bulb, but after watching a video on youtube it seems I gotta remove the front wheels to do this. Question is, is there an easier way or do I have to just face the music and remove rims? If so I might as well wait until I put summer wheels back on.

The whole job can be done from under the bonnet, it'll be much easier if you have small hands and you can expect to lose a fair bit of skin, but it will only take about 30 mins.

Thanks Ian, that's reassuring. I haven't got small hands though. Not bothered about loosing skin, it'll grow back. Is there a guide on the forum for doing this?

Do it on a warm day, trying to curl cold fingers in to the right positions whilst scraping them on cold metal and plastic would not be at all fun.
You might be able to do it easier through the wheel arch flap with the wheel just turned inwards. Mine doesn't have angel eyes though and I have fairly small hands so I just do it all from the top. One sides easier access from the other from memory, I think passenger side. |

Is the xenon vs halogen light really that different to change the angel eye bulb?
I changed the Angel eye bulb on my LCI E90 with xenons and it took a few mins. |

You'll need to loosen the air filter and push it out of the way but it won't need removing.
The problem I found with going through the wheel arch flap I'd that you need to be able to see what you're doing and I couldn't see a thing through the flap. |
