Fuse tapping stays on 24/7?

I had my laser interceptor installed a while ago and i used slot 63 which is the homelink for my 335 xi coupe. It was different compare to most peoples 26 fuse homelink.
Anyways i tapped into that using the add a circuit mini and i use a 7.5amp fuse to support the LI since i couldnt find a 5am or 3 amp .
Is 7.5 too strong for the LI?

My main question is since i tapped into the homelink i thought the LI would start upon ignition but my LI switch LED is on even when i turn the car off and lock the doors.

Does anyone know whats going on ?
Does this drain any power out ? Should i turn it off every time i leave my car?

Any help

Thanks.

Just switch fuse spots. I had to use a different one then a friend when hardwiring my radar detector. Just poke around at a few different ones and see which works.

Yeah pretty sure it has constant power so you can get into the garage whenever, w or w/o ignition on!

I don't think my homelink works without the key (i'll have to check though). That makes sense to me, so if someone breaks into your car on the driveway, they can't also open the garage door.

some systems do stay on for a few minutes after you remove the key though. Then, after a bit, the car goes to "sleep" mode and shuts them down. check to see if the LI turns off after a few minutes.

Different year cars have different fuse boxes... my homelink does not work unless there is power/key in ignition (i have 27.xx software), but i have seen others that do work. Did you have a software update recently? Need to use a DMM and find an ignition on source only so your battery will not drain.
