Grinding noise when shutting down engine, n52b30
Hello,
engine started to make this noise (video linked below) when shutting it down. Any ideas what it could be? Couldn’t find a video of a similar noise. No codes. Things i have tried, no effect: - remove aux belt - unplug valvetronic motor (was almost sure the cause would be this) - unplug eccentric shaft sensor Car: 2007 E92 330i N52B30 Manual RWD |

Mmmh, can you locate where it comes from, like left/right side of engine? Never heard before, imho doesn't sound like starter gear grinding on the flywheel for a broken starter solenoid, kinda "interesting"
Maybe DISAs? you can try to unplug em (yellow arrow) and see if it goes away like you did with the belt like broken teeths on the plastic internal gears Last edited by PhaceN52; 11-20-2023 at 07:12 AM.. |

Thank you for the suggestion PhaceN52 . I am beyond confused. Indeed, unplugging either of the disas ”fixes” it. I am confused because i replaced both 23 000km ago with OEM parts. Well, guess I’ll just replace them again, when i get the parts. I will update this thread then to confirm the fix!

Searched my email to recheck the parts i bought 23 000 km ago. Judging by the price they were actually not OEM, i remembed incorrectly. Well, that pretty much explains this.
