Please do. LOL This is open to everyone from Indy, Cleveland, Chicago, Detroit, Pittsburgh, Louisville, Columbus, Dayton, Cincy, and all areas around, between and beyond. We are hoping for a huge turnout this go around, it is about time we show everyone, that just because we are in the Midwest, doesn't me we can't still put on one hell of a BMW event. Start spreading the word.

Thanks again everyone who is willing to and is helping out. I have no doubt it will be a great event.

Okay, so here is a list of possible locations. As of now people are going to have to make contact with these places, but please let's only have one person contact them (each one). If you can and are willing to make contact and begin to work a location please let me know before you do so we don't have 3 people calling the same place. I will post a list of discussed locations shortly. Thanks everyone.

Cheers
Todd

Hey I checked out the Monroe outlet mall and while it had a HUGE parking lot and it was pretty nice, the traffic situation was HORRIBLE! It might calm down between now and October but my inclination is that its just not the right place for this kind of event. Todd and I had lunch today and we both agreed that Easton seems to be the best place for us. We just need someone in close proximity to Columbus to be our POC for the venue...hint hint

Uwe at Evans BMW has offered to advertise Bimmer Festivus in their monthly newletter to all BMW owners that are in their system if we can get information to him by mid August.

I have phone calls out to Forgeline and Escort to inquire about vendor support and possible group buys. This is gonna be a BIG meet and Im getting excited already!

+1

After talking it over and really debating this for some time, I really feel like Easton would be an ideal place. I would love to get someone the inside at Easton or have someone with some pull in the C-Bus area put some heat on them to have us there, along with festivities, music, etc. From what some had said previously, Kelly BMW in Columbus was really interested in having us, so maybe they can set this up with Easton and be the BMW dealer on site for this event? Anyways, more to come soon, as we are just getting started. Please help start getting the word out and coming up with ideas, opinions, suggestions, activities, vendors/sponsors, participation, etc. more than welcome.

Cheers

Oh, no. Anyone is welcome. The more the merrier! We had all sorts of cars at our last GTG. Some new, some old, some vintage.

Timeframe? As in how long does the event last, or timeframe as in how long until the event happens, etc? I believe a typical time for an event like this would be something like 1pm to maybe like 6ish or later? But, since we don't have an exact venue as of yet, it should take shape as far as time goes based on the venue.

Yes, all BMW's are welcome as are special or nice Euro (Porsche, Mecedes, Audi, etc) or exotic cars (Ferrari, Aston Martin, Masseratti, etc).

Cheers

Yes, duration would have been a better word. Thanks
I was looking at Easton and I think it would cool if we had the roof of one of the parking garages reserved for the event...their surface parking is very small and isolated/seperated.

One of the nice things about Easton is that there is the garage if it rains. We had our last GTG at The Greene here in Dayton and they, for the most part, worked with us and wanted to make our event part of their day to help draw some people to a less traveled part of the Greene, hence our cars were parked right in the middle of everything which was great. Here's a pic of some of the cars from the last GTG. Although I'm not sure where something like this might work at Easton.

I will try to stop at Easton today and talk to the Management, but I do not think they care at all. All of the gararges have been very full this week with new store openings and there is no room to park cars like you guys did at the green. Easton use to have a huge Brittish car meet there every year and people came from all over the country for it, and they stopped that 4 years ago. Kelly BMW is still VERY INTERESTED!

Maybe by October the new store rush will have calmed down. What big new stuff opened there?

I looked on Easton's website...the weekend of Oct 10-11th is open on their events calendar, so that should help gain support for this event.

The event calender does not mean anything. Easton is not car friendly. They have finally run the fart can civics out of the area and they have rerouted the traffic patters so you can not keep driving around. Easton security also stops you if you are thought to be "Cruising". The amount of security is incredible due do gang activity and on Saturday nights the main enterances are manned by security and they have an age restriction if not accompanied by an adult. They have a huge room to keep all the kids and gang bangers they round up until mom and dad come get em! There is a reason that there have been no car club meets there in years.
