Calculating plenum size?
Does anyone know anything about this?
Google is proving slightly illusive... I'm building another set of EFI manifolds for my classic beetle (this will be the 3rd development) These will be 38.1mm OD tube with 1.2mm wall thickness each tube feeding its own cylinder (4 cylinder engine) with a bore of 90.5mm and stroke 82mm (2110cc engine) max RPM should be 6500rpm but normally set the redline at 6k. target aim is 150 BHP NA.... Anyone have a super rick and morty degree in rocket science and can help out? Working out what Volume my plenum needs to be or at least wants to be close to..... in my head it wants to be the CC of two cylinders plus say 10% Cheers Andy PS i need a project to keep my mind busy and stop me spending too much money online while i'm waiting to recover from a shoulder op hence my crapy old beetle is getting some attention |

i'll stick up some pics as i go, made up the flanges, need to cut out the ports on them, pipe is arriving.... and then i've got some round bar to make injector bosses to weld in (sod paying about £15 each for those!) and some square stock to make the fuel rail out of....
then make a plenum, the size isn't too important once boosted from what i gather and it'll probably be more of a "what fits" size but if i can get it right/close thats a plus! plan is get it running NA again (currently on ITBs) get a good tune, then work on choosing and adding a turbo.... making up the pipework for that, feed it into my plenum and either do water injection or a water to air charge cooler...., then start really making some power |
