i ran a muffler delete on my e92 for a few months and couldn't wait to change it. Tons of drone, really loud even at idle/startup. I eventually ended up using a magnaflow muffler and welded tips for a 335 style exhaust setup and am muuuuuuuuch happier now with the tuned/euro sound.

Not loud at all....
Well I am coming from a GT500.... Still its not loud $20 cash then I ordered some hooker tips for $50. I drive a 6MT and there is minimal drone. I really can't hear the exhaust at highway speeds, its pretty damn quiet. A lot of opinions on here are coming from guys who are used to quiet exhausts. I live in the south and my muffler delete doesn't raise an eyebrow. |

Cost me $50 on my 335. I had my own tips and they cut the mufflers off, ran straight pipes and connected the tips to the straight pipes. $50.

^ i really do, i dont mean to either, i try to be sneaky, some times it works, most times it doesnt . i have to put A LOT of effort in to my gear shifting and knowing when im hitting the gas. trust me i have thought about putting my res back on now for a while. but there are certain times where having it off is a lot of fun

Wow, the guys who think that a muffler & resonator delete is "loud" haven't ever owned anything with some real muscle! lol. I have both deleted and still wish it could be louder. My '67 Camaro shakes windows a block away.

lol yeah. The 335 with muffler delete aint that loud, so I doubt a 328 would be that loud. My highly modded 88 camaro......now thats loud.

Well looks like I will find out what it sounds like this afternoon. Meineke quoted me $100 plus the cost of tips I choose. I am coming from a daily driven turbo 240sx with 3" down/exhaust pipes. I dont think the sound of a Bimmer w/o a muffler is going to bother me much.

How far up are the resonators on the 328? Because the prices of these deletes is outrageous. It must be way more straight pipe then the 335 needs.

Cost should be around the $50 range. Basically they're just cutting off the muffler and replacing it with a straight pipe!

anyone do the 328 to 335 conversion with muffler delete or adding a muffler with dual pipes and not use a 335 rear bumper(aka dremeling out a space for the right tip and also what size tips are recomended besides 3"

A muffler and resonator have no bearing on emissions. Only the cats.

220. Muffler delete, resonator delete, custom straight pipe, and tips. Best mod I've done aside from the V1. I get asked what type of exhaust I'm running and that my car sounds good all the time
