Not longer than for me - and I'm sure it's worth it! And actually good to have a long way to get there because you're building up appetite and anticipation!

That sounds simply awesome.

When I told the missus she demanded we have a table immediately!

We'll definitely be in to support you Tony, it sounds fantastic - your evident passion for top notch ingredients and good service will be your secret to success.

Sounds and looks very nice Tony and what a refreshing change, a restaurant that will serve British food - nice one!

Hard to think that pre both World wars, our food rivalled French cuisine when you read books on the subject.

£18 for a Sunday roast though Do people actually pay that!

All the best with your new venture.

On a serious note, when is the menu going to be out? and what is the booking process?

I think the website needs updating ....

Menu is coming out in about two days time, I think...! Patience my friend, patience! And yes, the website is being updated...

Bookings will be via phone or the website. Sundays are already getting booked up, and we haven't even finished building the place yet!!

No, we won't be part of the Top Table offers. We will have an entry on the Top Table database though.

Thanks Si I do spend a lot of time researching the provenance of products and my head chef is really supportive of British suppliers and producers. We can't guarantee everything will be from Britain (sadly, British oranges and lemons are a bit hard to find...!) but we will try our best to be all British.

It's such a shame that whilst London is the food capital of the world, it has such little to offer in the way of British food. That's why I'm trying to bring back some great old British recipes to modern day cooking.

£18 for cardboard roast - yes, people really do pay that. It's shocking the lack of quality you get for that money. But have a look at the picture below and you'll get an idea of what we'll be doing

Rumours have it that the opening will take place very soon! I'll test this British-food-gourmet-palace (in order to be convinced that this is not an oxymoron ) very soon, if everything works out...

How funny seeing this latest post, I was thinking about Tony's place earlier on, wondering when it's opening. I'm down in fackin' Landan next month for a night and was wondering where to eat (just checked it's round the corner from where I'm staying... ).

Tony - when are the doors opening???

edit - just read, 23rd Feb, is that right??? If it is, best of luck.
