335is front tire max width?

I just bought some new wheels for the track and they're 18x9.5 sq. I'm looking for the widest track tire I can use without rubbing or modifying the fenders.

That depends on the offset of the wheels. I've seen 245's rub in the front. It's not easy pulling off 9.5 in the front with properly sized tires. I have a 9.5 in the front and I rub quite a bit with 235's, though my offset is 22.

it's a pre-LCI sedan.

No rubbing, no fender roll.

I wouldn't run a square set up for the track. 9.5 is good for the rear and you could fit 265's, potentially 275's. 8.5 with a 235 is better for the front. Problem with square set ups, you'll never be able to fit a properly wide tire and be able to track it on the front unless you want goofy tire widths front and rear.

Wat?

There are countless others running 255s square on 9" rims as well. Unless we're talking about ST type power levels, I doubt you'd need more grip than that in the rear anyway.

I want to run a R compound tire but that is encouraging to know it might work.

I swapped the stock 19x9 rears with the stock 255 run flats to the front once to see how the offsets would work and they fit perfect. No rubbing and no need for spacers. They fit perfect and I'm considering getting a set of rears for the fronts. I just wish there was some way to widen the rears to accept larger tires as I love the look of the 313 rims.

I have 9.5et22 245/35/19 with -1.8 camber. It is definetly the widest I could go at the height I'm at. My front fenders were flattened, the bumper bolt relocated, and I let the fender liner reshape itself. My suspension is also set fairly stiff.

The only problem though is I read a lot of negative reviews on the process in general, not weldcraft themselves, which scared me away from having the rears done. Have you any personal experience or know of those who have had success with the process? Thanks, Joe

I eat my words. First I've seen that wide of a tire on the front of a non M. I rub on my fronts with a 9.5 and a 235, but my suspension isn't quite dialed in for track use. I will say, with 486 wtq, my 265s make my tracking control light flash on a straight in 4th soni don't know if I buy the not needing more grip than a 255. I spin 3rd quite a bit.
