Oil temps too high causing issues

So back story, my last N55 seized and i have since replaced it. I've been trying to dial in the car since i got it back.

My most recent issue with the swapped engine is my injector went. Had it replaced but it was still hesitating when under a bit of load. I went to work and after I drove it home. I got on it a bit…Maybe a bit overkill and I got up to some insane speeds. I looked at the oil temperate gauge and it was around 270-280 which is just way too high for my comfort. I never had that issue before so when I saw it I got off the gas and gave it a cool down drive. When I got to my house I got a engine malfunction. At this point the temps are back down to ~240.

I go to turn my car on today and its stalling out and having a very rough idle and the engine malfunction popped back up. I grab my phone to use MHD to check codes and originally it gave me huge list of codes. I took a picture and cleared them. I went to turn the car on again and instantly got a engine malfunction.

Original codes before clearing:

- DME active codes -
2774 - Air volume, plausibility: Air volume too high.
2C58 - Charging pressure control: Switch-off as consequential reaction.
2D55 - Variable camshaft timing control
(VANOS), intake, cold start: not controllable.
2D5A - VANOS intake: Control fault, camshaft stuck.
2FAC - Ignition, cylinder 5: Combustion period too short.
2FAD - Ignition, cylinder 6: Combustion period too short.
- DME shadow (inactive) codes -
2DAE VANOS, inlet, collective fault: electrical or
mechanical
2DAF - VANOS: Multiple fault.

Codes after clearing:

- DME active codes -
2C58 - Charging pressure control: Switch-off as consequential reaction.
2DAO - Intake camshaft: Angle deviation with respect to crankshaft outside tolerance.

Did I mess something up due to the heat? I originally thought it went into limp mode just to cool it self down. I didn't see much on this topic but Im going to clean the Vanos solenoids and see what happens from there.

Super weird, that's definitely not normal. I couldn't hit 280 on a 93 degree track day on a pretty hot tune this summer. I unfortunately don't have advice but good luck!

Did you reset the adaptations? Clear codes, and do it again. Then drive it to get the battery fully charged.

i would like to assume it's equipped with oil cooler and intake pipe screw tight...that is weird.

None. Factory oil cooler, stock radiator, etc. Just a 7" FMIC. I run Motul X-cess 8100 which is great stuff and definitely lowers oil temps some but I guess my point here was something is definitely amiss to be getting those kind of temps.

Sorry to hear that man. I had similar codes and in my case, the exhaust camshaft had skipped and the engine had to be retimed. They also cleared out the VANOS channels and that was the final piece of the puzzle. I think hot oil might have f'ed up the VANOS, but 280 is way too hot.
