Sad day, sold my 335i....
As some of you know I had decided to sell my car if I could get a sensible price for it - desperately sad to see it go but I couldn't justify spending all that money every month on a toy for me that sits at the airport or in a carpark - it was different when I got a decent bonus at the end of the year but those days are away for a year or two.
Stll, I have had the car I wanted, and was not forced to sell it - it was my my own decision and for a while I thought my job might go and I was in pretty serious negative equity at the time - I managed to sell sensibly as prices have recovered significantly. Am getting a nice A4 Avant for the family and will get a cheaper toy for my commute. If a potential job change comes about I may be back in something more powerful soon, we'll see. Was tough when the chap drove off in it today though!!

Snooky - I have done similar (downgraded) once for financial reason, once because tealeaves wanted my wheels, couldn't get them to vandalised the car repeatedly.
Both cars were much loved and great fun and the replacement were much duller. But it's still only a car and there are always much more important things in life. Just look forward to something fun again soon. |

Know how you feel John.
I look at it this way, there's always another time (going to make damn sure lol). Enjoy the Avant it sure isn't a bad car by any means! |

Cheers guys and gal.
As I said, it was my decision. I could have kept it but decided to divert the car budget to a nicer (and safer etc) family car that gets used daily. The A4 Avant will be an excellent motor and the Quattro will be more suited to the icy winter conditions up here than 306bhp of rear wheel drive Bimmer!! I am looking at all sorts of things for a daily commuter for myself - from a really basic older hatch to a new Renaultsport Clio 200 (and loads of other things besides!). The Audi arrives in December and I will post pics etc when we get it. John

Helen,
Just read the other thread re your 997 Turbo. I certainly understand how you are feeling and it must be worse seeing a car like the Porka go (albeit an S5 is a very nice place to park your bum too!). J
