Clutch Pedal Creak
I'm having this creaking noise when I press the clutch pedal in, you can feel a very very slight notch in the clutch pedal, very slight, when the noise occurs. Only happens when the clutch pedal is fully out and you press it fully in. If you press the pedal down all the way, release it 50% and press it back down there is no creak. Sounds like the noise is coming from the slave cylinder so I pulled it out and greased the tip. This helped a bit but the noise is still there.
I'm thinking that it might be coming from clutch release arm linkage, or the pivot bearing maybe? I replaced the clutch about 10,000 miles ago and put a new arm, clutch release bearing, pilot bearing, brass pivot bearing and new slave cylinder. I only put grease on the throw out bearing and nothing else, was I supposed to grease the pivot bearing and slave cylinder post? Thinking about it now, it was pretty dumb not to grease all the contact points on the linkage. Anyways, there is no way I'm pulling the transmission out to fix this noise, just wondering if anyone else has experienced this same/similar noise? |

It's a feature, not a bug. Part of the charm of being one of a dying breed of 3-pedal'ers.
Just ignore it.

Mine makes the same noise, agreed it's normal. Never had any issues with it, other than I think my 135k miles DMFW is on it's last legs.

I feel you on that, what makes you say that tho? for me it's when I try to accelerate pretty hard in first the flywheel feels like it loads all at once rather that smoothly/ gradually. It's pretty jerky unless I'm slow in engaging first till I rev it past 2k.

OP, check the spring in the footwell behind the clutch pedal (you have to drop down the close out panel - remove 3 screws).
My pedal would 'click' when it was pressed 100% down, and I could feel it with my foot. The root cause is that the spring rotated on it's perch and kind of falls off the dampener a bit when pressed fully in. I tried rotating the spring (can only rotate with the pedal pushed down) but the spring kept falling of the perch no matter which position I put it in. I ended up putting some silicone on the spring and perch to hold it in place. This seemed to do the trick. I also ordered a replacement spring from FCP just in case I want to swap it out. I guess this "new" spring design has a slightly different feel to it, for better or for worse I don't know yet. There are a few threads on this issue, I found by searching.
