Paul - yes i have a spare helmet - its a little battered - its never been dropped or in an accident but has a few scratches on it and one of the vents on top is missing - but all in working order and importantly has the gold stamp on the back - its a top of the range Arai - its a size small as ive got a little pea head - but if it fits you and its comfortable then you are welcome to it.
I have a question for those that have done track days before - do you go into groups ie novice, intermediate, advanced etc?? If so, i definitely want to go in the novice!! If its not grouped then how does it work - does it mean i will be on the track at the same time as some balls out nutter racer??? I have to say im getting a little nervous about hooning my car around a track at the same time as some boy racer in his pimped out escort who doesnt give a monkeys about putting it in the gravel and taking me with him. I appreciate there will be rules and flags to obey but all the same i know too well what can happen when the red mist descends!! Have to say boys - i may be having second thoughts about this track day?? Can anyone put my mind at rest?? I would just like to go out, obviously drive my car pretty hard without over cooking it etc but not have to be dicing with hard core racers slipstreaming me into bends and then diving down the inside and shitting me up!! I'll answer this one the best I can, you can do special novice trackdays or why not book a track instructor while your out there, they are great and if you listen, really listen after a couple of times on track (a couple of trackdays not too far apart) you'll be surprising both yourself and other people in so called "superior" cars

Just remember those boy racers in their pimped out Escorts as you put it have probably spent thousands of pounds pimping out their Escorts, also some of the "sheds" on track aren't all about the exterior

Most of all have fun, you will be absolutely fine!

Bay, its a novice only day for those that have done LESS than 3 track days before.

A track day is not racing and if I see someone quicker coming up behind me I will indicate, pull to the side and let them past. I'm going primarily to see what my car can do on the track, not to race people. I too will want to stay clear from others...

Cheers, fella, but it may be getting a little close to the new arrivals due date of 7th September...

I am keen to get on a trackday around the middle of August though.

Well said Paul,

all i will add is this, there will always be someone faster, just let them past. You will have plenty of time throughout the day to test your car. Be patient and you'll be suprised how capable your car really is. Also its amazing fun, its the most fun you can have without...(edited by Viv )

Do we need helmets?

Can they be hired?

Anything else required?
