he should be waiting longer than its been to redyno... it needs a few weeks unless he's doing like 250 miles daily

Hey Frank,
I haven't yet, since I'm still waiting for Long to mail me my custom diffuser so I can finally install these Remus quads sitting in my room for the past 6 weeks. When I go to the shop for the exhaust installation I'll get a dyno done (before and after). I anticipate it to be in about another 2 weeks though. After driving my car for the past week or so, I've noticed the tune taking effect. I have noticed that in the lower gears I have significantly more torque available to me, and the car upshifts at higher RPMs. Although I've driven mostly around town, I've driven a little on the freeway as well. The car actually has more of a punch to it when accelerating, and I can definitely feel a difference with its response on the freeway. In regards to gas mileage, I'm getting about 20 mpg now in the city, whereas I used to get ~22 mpg. I'm not sure if this is because I'm driving with a heavier foot and enjoying the acceleration, or if it's due to the tune. I have noticed that when I accelerate from a stop, the mpg needle gauge stays at the 12 mpg level much more often than before (I used to be able to keep the needle between the 12 and 15 mpg level). However, on the freeway the needle spends more time near or above the 40-50 mpg level when cruising on a flat road, which is pretty cool. I imagine my overall mpg won't change much (for better or for worse), but it wouldn't surprise me if my highway mpg got better and my city mpg got worse (just by observing the gauge). Overall I'm quite happy with this tune so far, and can't wait until I get another dyno done!

I don't want to beat the mpg thing to death, since I didn't buy this nice car to compete with a Pruis or other similarly good mpg vehicle, but I figured some of you would be interested... This weekend I drove about 400 miles all on the hwy. Pre-tune, the best gas mileage I was able to get (driving without flooring it, etc) on a long trip was 34.0 mpg on the hwy. This weekend I was able to get the exact same gas mileage cruising about 10 mph above the speed limit. I guess the point is, I punched it on every on-ramp (just because it's so damn fun), and was still able to match my best gas mileage easily! The best part of the tune is that regardless of how fast you're going (35 or 80 mph), you can tap the accelerator just a little to get some noticeable torque. Before the tune you actually had to press down a bit harder for the car to be more responsive by downshifting and accelerating. But now, it's a lot more fun to drive. This tune is pretty addictive!

^ +1 im honestly a little scepticle about it because with the 330 it seems like its litterally imposible to get a little more out of the car. i mean with exhaust and intake i would say i added maybe 12hp and 10 torque. there are chips that offer 15hp but they require 93 oct. and i Cali we cant get that. only 100 and that cost $8.43 a gallon.
but its just feels like its giving all it has when you stomp on it. it needs internals. |
