I am wondering if Idrive will signal or give you warning notice about the regular maintenence. I supposed to have my first one in 0ct 07, but never get notice. Instead idrive change to oct 08 automatically. So do I need to tell dealer to reset it or not when I go get free oil change later this week?

The idrive keeps track of your needs. If you are due for service...it will give you an orange triangle when you scroll through your service info. If you are overdue..you get a red triangle. If it changed the date...you should also look at the mileage b/c some items are *in so many miles* vs *at this date*. The dealer will atutomatically reset items when service is done.
