E90 Door Lock Switch / Interior Light / Door Open

I assume I need to order a new door lock / latch, but just checking in case anyone has another suggestion.

With no previous issues I now have the following symptoms:

Interior Light does not come on when drivers door opened (all other doors OK)
Interior light stays on permanently after start up - unless manually turned off
Door Open warning permanently on dash while driving.

ISTA reports 009CBC FRM: short circuit at front door contacts.

It seems quite a bit of work to replace this.

However I assume it will be even more work to check the various wiring tests that ISTA suggests as I would have to spend a lot of time identifying the various cables and doing more reading. It would also require some time to get at the wiring and so the testing.

Unless someone has a more likely suggestion it would seem the most likely issue is the door lock / latch.

I also assume there is not much I can do to repair the lock / switch.

Outcome:

Light started to come on again, but every time it was locked the button repeatedly popped up and down, leavong the car randomly locked or unlocked.

I bought a used door lock. Issue fixed.
