335xi Sedan w/ M Aero Kit issue w/ Dinan oil cooler/intercooler
Called Dinan a little over a month ago to research getting mods and found the Dinan oil cooler will not fit "without modification." Does anyone have this setup? Quite a few dealers' service departments are saying they aren't doing Dinan installs anymore but most of the parts guys are still eager to sell the parts. Most also don't seem to be very knowledgeable about the parts, (sounded like they were reading from the Dinan website.) Please advise. I don't want to be a guinnea pig, possibly void my warranty, and pay them to experiment fitting it to my car!!! We keep our cars for a very long time so I would really like to fit the oil cooler and intercooler before I increase boost so significantly. Thanks in advance!

The OC is supposed to fit in the OEM bumper with a shorter foglight (there is a P/N for it). After I had the M-Tech kit installed, my tire was hitting the protective fins on the OC, to the point where one of them bent. I just had it bent back, and the OC pushed in as far as possible. There is still very little room, as the M-Tech foglight is still a little long.
I spoke to someone at Dinan and they said that they don't support the M-Tech bumper as of yet. IMHO, I still think that the clearance for the OC is very minimal. Mind you, I'm running 19's with 235/35 up front. |

Thank you for the response and directing me to the right thread. I did do a search but the search results weren't very good, or I didn't type in the right combination of words. (I did try a few combinations though!)

Times like these I wish I had gotten the Sports Package! No stock oil cooler came with our car, though I'm considering trying to figure out what parts I would need to put it in. (Doesn't seem too difficult if the Dinan part for cars without one is only $300 more than the one for cars with the stock oil cooler.)
