Ferrari special project

The SP12 EPC is being made for legendary musician Eric Clapton who is reportedly set to part with £3 million for the honor. And generates it name from its owner (Special Project 12 Eric Patrick Clapton). The Ferraru 458 provides the base and it has been treated to a custom body kit inspired by the 512 BB.

The 4.5-liter V8 engine with 570 PS (419 kW / 562 hp) from the factory model would normally be enough but the 66-year old wanted to have a V12 equipped. Unfortunately the chassis for the 458 has not been built to handle the bigger power unit so Ferrari had to reject his request.

I like it. I wish Ferrari would do a proper photoshoot. It's def not worth £3m but I suppose how can you put a pricetag on a model made just for you? I think it looks good. Reminds me of old testarossa and 355.

For that price, I think Clapton should have gotten the V12. The differences are nice but not significant enough to warrant that much of a premium IMO.

Worst cameraman ever. I think he was having a seizure when filming. I can't tell if I like the car or not.

I've seen a custom 612 from Ferrari. It had rear fenders that looked like an Enzo and the paint faded from dark blue to blue/silver from roof down. There were some other custom features on it was well. Different nose and side sills. Cost was $2million.

The 458 above looks fantastic! Love it. Nothing like getting a one of a kind Ferrari from Ferrari.

Ick. I'd rather see a BB512 body shell with a modern interior, brakes and V12, sort of like the Singer 911's.
