Hello guys. Today I tuned my 2011 E92 328xi with the N51 engine. My mods are: charcoal filter delete, K&N air filter, secondary cat delete and a tune. I got 258hp at the crank. I am happy with the result, but my tuners told me that if I remove my primary cat, the car will be closer to 280-300hp at the crank. However I think that I will loose low end torque, am I right ?

P.S: My car before the tune, with all the other mods outputed 232hp, which means that all the other mods didn’t add much gains. I am attaching a picture of the dyno.

This is an engine power dynograph (converted from whp) But no, you absolutely will not lose torque from headers, but you do stand to gain a good amount of power. Headers and full exhaust, and retune is good for 20-25hp.

I live in Europe and my car was imported form the USA. The tune was custom made by the most popular tuners in my country (Madness Motorsport). During the dyno run one of my oxygen sensors went bad and the car outputed these results with a bad oxygen sensor. I have replaced that oxygen sensor now and the car feels a lot faster. Before I went to tune the car the tuners told me that it should output around 270-280hp at the motor. I think when I fixed the oxygen sensor it is closer to that as it feels a lot faster than before. They said that the power output from my car should be the same as an European Spec N52 330i (258hp) with a remap.

280bhp from removing the cats? That's pretty optimistic.

I don't see 300bhp from an N52, much less an N51, that doesn't at least have headwork, and definitely not with the 3 stage manifold.
