Yes, but it would take them about 2 minutes to test the battery and rule that out.

2.5 years later and still going strong. I think I've got my money's worth already.

Totally, but thanks to their legal team they don't have to.

my Walmart battery (self-installed, properly programmed by an Indy) lasted right at 1 year. Had a factory battery installed in April to replace it. Traded the E90 335i in on a F30 340i last week, but I wanted to post an update of my experience.

Pep boys will sell you a Bosch battery with warranty which is no big deal , BUT, when they replace it they restart the warranty period as if brand new. My neighbor goes through one every other year because of the heat but gets a new one free because of this quirk in their system.

After my OEM battery died on my 09 M3 in April 2012 I bought an Interstate battery MTP-93. I did not register it.
Every once in a while I would loose time on the clock, digital speed reading on IP would go away, and rear defroster worked about 50% of the time.
Did these things have something to do with not registering? Maybe
The battery just died.
The battery was lead acid and lasted 4 years 8 months and I am in South Texas so very hot summers. Lasted longer than OEM.
I bought the Maxx Everstart H8 this time and I plan on registering it.
Will I have those couple things that were happening continue and will this battery last longer? Who knows.
Interstate doesnt sell that exact battery anymore so I cant do an apples to apples comparison by registering and not registering so I saved some money buying the walmart battery.
Plus the walmart battery can be bought 24/7 in almost every city in US. Plus walmart warranty is way better than Interstate

reserve capacity is 140
so according to the formula:

140/2 + 16= 86 ah

and 86 is closer to 90ah.

Installed one without registering it, was dead after 9 month. Got a second one under warranty, registered, still running strong after 4 1/2 years.

Hello all. Great thread and Im pleased to see all the updates with great results on battery. I bought a used 2006 330xi and the airbag/seat belt light was on. So after some research I assumed previous owner bought a new batt and never registered it. I bought a carly adapter and registered it myself.

Bad idea! Yeah the lights are now off but car seems to idol rough (at times) and I know its only at 11.4 when car is not running. I want a new battery and think ive found the one with this thread but I have a question.

What did you register the battery ah as? 90ah or 80ah?

Garage List
2011 BMW 328i  [0.00]
Hi everybody.

Please let me share my experience here with my case and this Wally Everstart Battery Maxx H8 ($119 w/ 3y warranty + 2y Prorated). I just replaced the battery on my 2011 E90 328i with the same battery as the OP.

I got the car from the local BMW stealership about 3 months ago with very low mileage (about 33K), the previous owner didn't use the car at all I guess and I became the second owner. I spoke to their main mechanic before purchasing and he told me everything was great on it, however, I noticed the start being a bit sluggish.

Previous symptoms were sluggish cold starts and some times slow until one morning it didn't start at all, pushed the start button and the dashboard lights would flicker and clicking noises can be heard. Measured the terminals and got around 8V.

Did some reading and troubleshooting thanks to this amazing forum, I found that the battery was a white BMW battery 720CCA 90AH that was probably there since the car was built.

After replacing the battery, the car started right away, maybe a bit slow but that may be just me being a little paranoid, I also noticed all the lights being brighter.

I still need to register the battery and probably change the AH, I'm waiting for my KDCAN cable to see what battery profile is loaded and then register it. As of now, this baby starts and runs like a dream with this battery.

I'm also planning to do an electric parasitic test just to make sure everything is ok and check the ground cables in the engine bay.

I want to thank everybody in this amazing forum for you inputs and sharing your experiences.

Cheers!

Curious if anyone has a definite Amp Hours for this battery looking to purchase and register with the Carly app. I'll need to know the AH to register it correctly.

I am going to purchase the Walmart H8 battery to install in my 07 335i tomorrow. I am going to use the Carly app to register the battery and plan to use 90Ah.

The battery that I am replacing is the original battery from July 2007. I don’t think I will get 11 years from the Walmart battery!

I just install one in my 2011 E92. It was a tight squeeze, but it does fit. I used Carly as well, but I set it as 80Ah, since that is what was previously documented.

I don't know how that is possible ! 11 years wow!

Yeah I am on my 3rd battery. This time i bought a Walmart battery and used my foxwell. I changed it right before it was transferred from one state to another. The shipping company charges $200 if your car doesn't start and the light came on a few days before. I didn't want to risk it .

The foxwell NT510 has been a lifesaver.

Everstart Batteries are made by Johnson Controls
Johnson Controls
5757 N. Green Bay Ave.
P.O. Box 591
Milwaukee, WI 53201
You can contact them and ask for the specs on the H8 battery.
I have the same one in my Mercedes which has worked flawlessly! But since my benz is older, registering and coding is not required.
When I wanted to get a new battery for my 09 328i xdrive, Walmart was out of stock so I bought a Duracell H8 from Sams Club for $120 (lead acid)
I contacted East Penn, the manufacturer of the Duracell and spoke to a tech. He told me my battery is 100ah!
Interesting that Walmart owns Sams Club, but they get batteries from different suppliers! The Duracell and Everstart have identical warranties too.
Also of note: the gray plastic cover on the positive terminal that come on the new Everstart batteries has the small vent hole cover molded onto it. See OP pix of battery!
The way I see it, for the price you can't go wrong. You get three year warranty and if it fails after that, just buy another!
PS: I bought a Duracell for my 89 Corvette for under $80. Such a deal!

Got this reply from Johnson Controls this morning:

Thank you for contacting JCI Customer Service. The Everstart Maxx-H8 & Everstart Platinum H8 don't have a published AH rating. We can estimate the AH based on battery type and AH. Below are the estimates.

Maxx-H8 - 140RC - Estimated 81AH

Platinum AGM H8 - 160RC - Estimated 82AH

According to walmart US website,

https://www.walmart.com/ip/EverStart...up-H8/16782659

EverStart MAXX-H8 - 140RC which is equivalent to 96AH. (160/2)=16

However, Walmart Canada shows 185 RC

https://www.walmart.ca/en/ip/eversta.../6000195362492

Are these not same batteries?

FWIW, I get 81Ah (81.07 to be exact) using a formula from a regression I did. I hope that my formula is correct as I coded my battery as 80Ah.
