Gavin thanks so much for sorting another awesome drive. Matt, ditto for the lunch

As ever its the people that really make these events, both when driving a bit (err) briskly and for the banter when we are not

So got home yesterday evening v.tired but still managed to sort the bits n bobs for James' party. Today today has been a blur, party in the morning, football (just couldn't watch the end) and family BBQ

Have lots of cool pics so will edit plates and and post up tomorrow along with a few more thoughts (need sleep now!)

Good times, thanks Gav and well done everyone for making it another nice event.

Will obviously look forward to the next one and hopefully to assisting where I can once again.

Regards
Matt

Some nice shots of all of us leaving the Hotel startpoint and then drive over Ikley towards Thrusscross. (Matt - my Dad did try and get a pic of your car following, but all he managed were my rear seats. Paul did warn my Dad he would need a crash helmet...he wasnt far wrong!)

Helen you drove your S5 like you stole it . Also impressive that you manged to spin the wheels on the quattro at that T-Junc!

Was well impressed with Ant E30. Mate as I said I thought you covered ground really well, espically as a couple of times I saw your suspension top out over the crests

Thrusscross Reservior - a much needed break from driving (both for Drivers and cars - The descent and hot weather must of put some heat into those front brakes)

On the way out I followed Mat in his 135i - that car really hunkers down when you boot it!

Cofees, cakes and for those of us who had the massive icecreams frantic licking to stop the oversized scoops from metling

Nice stetches of tarmac up here, shame about all the mobile roadblocks

Final part of drive to Bolton Abbey.

Paul's 335i's sounds like a wailing banshee - that noise always makes me want to drive to a dealer and ask for a swapsy!
He scared any and all in his path (sheep, cyclists et al) as can be seen in the third pic below - a stunned pedestrian

the e30 did do well and the suspension is very soft so lots of compressions and suspension at full stretch lol
next time i will be in the e36 that doesn't have a problem with stopping and cornering.

count me in for the next meet chaps,

paul may need you to take me for a spin in the 335 im interested in on after the sound your thing makes !!!

You can't beat the sound of a BMW petrol engine getting a damned good thrashing! I still open the window when I go through tunnels or between high walls. Did it going over the reservoir on Saturday!

Good pics Tim, trust your Dad had a good time

Max - cant outrun you! hmm, with your DMS map you'll have 40 more horses so you should be right, not like we were trying though

Ant - pm me, we'll sort something out

As for great comments about the sound of mine, its a stock 335, so do they all sound that good? Gavs sounds great 2.

Alan, glad you got there and back on a tank, your fellow jocks will be proud of you!

Cheers Paul - yeah and thanks all for making my Dad feel so welcome! I had hoped he would take more pics, but a lot of the time he was just trying to hold on

Yeap Gavin's 330i sounded pretty darn good as well.

Although the 330d has no real exhaust note (more turbine like) , the engine does have a nice 6cyl throaty growl - quite characterful for a diesel and I do like the turbo whistle as it spools up.

Just going off the 1/4 mile runs on Youtube................... 335d v 335i

where the "d" seems to just get the upper hand............

Realy enjoyable....................... and like i said out of those slow corners where you nailed it and had the back end spinning/sideways - your "i" sound FANTASTIC!

Think there was a bit of loose dirt on the road tbh Tim.

Yours sounds like it has a deeper rasp to the ones I've heard. Tony's sounds good too on full song. Tbh it's one of the reasons I've held off from getting an after market exhaust for mine, too much higher pitched rasp for my liking from the standard system, which for me blurbles and rumbles deeply as a V8 should imo.

Hi Helen! You should come down if the dates work out and make a weekend out of it.
Bit of news on my car....they have marked it down as a VIP car for the PDI () this means that a senior salesman must check it and sign some forms before they release it. My rep has told me that they're sh**ing themselves and think that i am some lunatic customer who will be going over the car with a magnifying glass.......happy to let them think that TBH

Hey Steve that's great news on your car and totally agree let them think you're some lunny........tell 'em you'll get your weapon out if it's not right.

Need to have a word with Tim about that pic. of moi..........my arse looks huge imo and it was windy and it really isn't that big and.........

Not sure if I'd be allowed to a South West meet in my old Audi.......think I just get away with it at the Northern meets lol.

Your car looks great and most men like a bit of 'junk in the trunk' on a lady
