Firestone firehawk Indy 500

Anyone run these tires? Under $500 for a set in stock sport package sizes... good reviews from what I've seen. Anyone have any info they can chime in? Long term reviews?

Yeah, buddy has them on his 335 and loves them, very good from what i read as well. I would say its the best tire you can buy right now for the money. They are not going to be up to par with RS4's, R71r's, RE11's, Z2's etc but they are also way more expensive.

I've actually done a decent amount of research on these tires. Tire rack has a video review on them and I have spoke to multiple people running them. Nothing but great reviews. I'm ordering some here within a couple weeks. They have been out for just over a year now and are the best tires you can buy in the "Ultra High performance summer" category.

I'm planning on writing a review once I get them.

I got my set of rears. Fantastic grip over my old. Bridgestone RE760.

275/30/19 on stock style 230 rims.

Looks good. Would you say they run more narrow or more wide than other tires in the same size?

I've got these on my 135i and they are great. I was initially hesitant to pull the trigger on them but now I'm happy I got them. I've had them for close to 8k miles and can barely notice any wear on the rears - fronts still look new. They run slightly narrower than Michelin PSS and i felt the PSS were a little better on initial turn-in response. However, the Firestones are better at off the line traction and were the same on lateral grip once past the initial tip-in. I would also say that wet traction is probably better on the Firestones, but that could be attributed to Michelins being more worn - I can't recall how they were when new. This is just based on my driving - spirited street/ mountain jaunts. No track days.

I'd say narrower. They have a hell of a rounded shoulder and not much contact unless I would do some seriously aggressive cornering.

I was just about to order Michelin pss until I also heard this too. The corvette and stang guys are running these tires and the reviews are amazing. Pricing is way better too...
I think I'll give the Indy 500 a shot

Switched from Potenzas to these and I've had them for about 6 months. Comparable ride quality and performance. For the price, these are a definite buy.

Here's a review thread on them that we had earlier:

I typed the tire name and size into a box on a page called "google" and several sources came up. None of them looks to be anything as reputable as tire rack.

Go to a Firestone shop. They can match prices. They did with mine. The Firestone shop I go to had to order my size and they were selling for around $183. I showed them the price on Tire Rack and they matched it. Had the tires the next day.

I looked into this tire as well, but ended up going to the Bridgestone Potenzas S-04 for ~$150 more.
I read somewhere that the Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 is based off the european bridgestone RE03 or S03

I just bought these for my car. 235/40-18 and 265/35-18. I will be mounting them on Friday and will do a review. I don't know if you checked simpletire.com but they have great prices and I received them in 2 days

got a set a few months ago awesome off the line tractions and cornering traction is impressive! had 245/275 but i'd wish i'd gone with 255 up front.

BTW they're are not directional which i found weird.

I got mine from tirebuyer.com they price match and also have FREE shipping took a less then 3 days to get here.

Considering the indy as well, dont understand how a 340 treadwear could grip as well. More leaning towards federal 595 RPM.

Just bought a set from that site, thanks for the heads up! Was surprised, everywhere else had the rears on backorder for like a month! total came out to about $440 with free shipping... I'm excited to see how they perform!
