suspension question

Me olde 335d has hit the 100 mark and the suspension is getting a bit crashy.

What are the usual suspects when it comes to ball joints etc that wear that I should look out for or have replaced first. There seems to be a bit of a clunk when going from reverse to drive.

I don't really see the point of splashing out mega bucks on a set of coilovers. It never goes anywhere to warrant it. The car itself spends literally 90% of its life on the motorway

I checked out powerflex, a full kit is over 1k, and that's just the parts.

The 100k mark theory is stupid. There is no magical number. Just get the car on a ramp at a decent indy and replace what's needed. And enjoy.

I'd make sure you're seated when that question gets answered,if you're standing the subsequent fall may prove rather painful!

Great answer from Jkas though

Trust me, after replacing a gearbox and a set of turbos, this is gonna be chicken feed in comparison. The only thing left to go is the suspension and I've got a brand new car!
