They really don't look as good IMO. You see so many drilled on Mercedes, Porsche, etc.

I agree completely. My Elise had cross-drilled rotors stock. They look sick! From a functionality standpoint, however, the slotted ones are generally better. I guess it all depends on why you're getting them.

Our calipers are huge on the car, and I would be more than satisfied with a good cross drilled or dimpled / slotted rotor. I wish we had options.

Unless you track your car, there is no need for cross drilled rotors. They are much more prone to fracture and fatigue during everyday driving.

They do look cool yet, use the money to go buy a set of rims and paint your calipers red or black or some color and you might be more satisfied imo.

I have a nice set of rims and it draws your attention to that part of your car, so I think the brakes would offset it nicely. I could careless about the performance of a BBK, so that is really not an option I want to consider.

I found these ones on ebay. I was looking for parts for my car and came across the drilled rotos.

Apparently a new release from DBA for the 335i is just released.

http://www.dba.com.au/2006/new_products/BMW_335D.asp

I know the link says 335D, but they're also listed for the 335i. Not sure on pricing or if tire rack can get them yet.

I did find some drilled, which I can remember where (sorry), but there are some out there. I remember they had drilled, slotted and slotted/ drilled. If I find the place again I will let you know. But I will probably go with the DBA myself.

Good find, but REDICULOUS pricing! Nearly $1000 for 4 one piece rotors?

I installed the Rotora Caliper kit, but they didn't have the cross drilled rotors at the time.
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...ghlight=rotora

They came out with the rears, so I picked them up, but now I'm still waiting for the fronts.

I'm sick of waiting! I want the fronts!

No no no!

I can crack the stock non-drilled, non slotted rotors in about 5 track days.

If you track your car, do NOT get the drilled rotors. When used hard, I would put money on them cracking after one day.

+1

with a BMW I plan to keep going back to the dealer for OE rotors, but on my old car (WRX) I just put the cheapest 'known brand' rotors I could find on the car. It didn't matter whether I used OE, brembo whatever. After a full season of hard use plus commuting the rotors were due up for replacement anyway

I wouldn't purchase drilled except for cosmetics and i'd only do slotted if i was going to rally in the mud

How do you figure? Isn't it generally accepted that slotted/drilled rotors allow better cooling? I know drilled rotors are weaker etc. etc. but even pad manufacturers like Pagid recommend slotted rotors with statements like "Since Pagid pads tend to "out-gas" we recommend using these pads with a new gas-slotted or cross-drilled rotor for the best performance."
