Is it me or the BMW community are just really rich or really spoiled? Even BMW dealership uses the term "lifetime" but only give in consideration as 100,000 miles. Anyone plan to drive the hell ouf of it to like 200,000 or maybe more? I see a lot of thread that everyone only care for their car up to 100k, not a lot of people want to use their car to the fullest. Can our car live that long, with out a rebuild?

+1 Unless it starts causing me huge maintenance headaches. But if it's just fuel pump, then I don't care.

Having taken my previous E30 325i to 256K, I have found the E90 to be a bit less problematic and slighly more reliable than the (highly vaulted - by Mike Miller) E30 was. I'd say at this point they are on par with each other. We also have a 1997 Z3, which has had only one issue when the cam sensor failed. However the quality of the interior has been less than desirable. Don't beat on your car much and it will last a long time.

I drove the crap out of my e46 and got it to 170,000 miles. Engine/tranny/body/interior were perfect. rear subframe broke and diff. fell out. this was before the lawsuit and recall for them.

I reckon the average owner lease their BMW under the annual 10K miles stipulation for the cheapest monthly rate. That was how $30K millionaires got into a BMW before the economy imploded.

I just picked up a used 330i with 48k miles on it. I plan on putting the miles on it just like I did with my Lexus... 184k miles and still running like new. (Now the wife's car)

I kept my last BMW (e46 2000 323i) for 10 years and 184,000 miles then gave it to my brother-in-law as a gift (still purring). Plan on keeping this for a long time too.

Also, for most BMW problems start off by scanning your car with the Peake Research Tool. It contains the actual BMW codes. If you want to register a newly installed battery for free (just buy a $10 cable) and google/download BMWLogger

Driving this one for quite a while still. 75k and rolling. Only failure so far is a water pump and t-stat that I just got replaced yesterday. $900, but it could've been worse.
