07 328i Magna Flow catback

Trying to decide if I should keep the secondary cats or delete? I don't want any droning, I've searched here but there's so many different combinations it's hard to pinpoint if it will drone if I delete the secondary's. Any advice would be appreciated. I have a coupe.

I wouldn't delete them. It will lead to a more raspy exhaust, and more volume and drone.

Keep em.
Or get some highflows.
I just went from straighpipes + mufflers
to high flow + mufflers and its still loud, but it sounds cleaner. Drone is like 99% gone, son.

Hope this helps.

Thanks guys that was what I needed to know, I'll keep em'. I'm just looking for a little better flow and sound, I'm 52 and don't need it to sound like I'm going 100 mph at 30 besides it much more fun to have a sleeper, the surprise and look on peoples faces is oh so much better

Looking at Magnaflow's site, it seems the cat-back has a resonator between the cats and the muffler. You could cut that out for a bit more sound, and it won't be as annoying as having a cat delete.

could always cut them out and replace with resonators. a good resonator should be alot better for sound and hp than even a high flow cat.

The catback system I bought has a resonator you think that would eliminate any droning?

If I removed the cats? I think someone said no so it's probably been answered already 😂

I always thought it was the resonator delete that lead to drone and rasp more so than the 2nd cat delete...

I have only a secondary cat delete and all I noticed was a slightly deeper tone with a tad bit more volume.

Of course on an otherwise stock exhaust (and with an air intake)

I'm going to leave the secondary cats for now and see how it sounds, I can always have them taken out leaving the Magnaflow resonator in place and see how it changes it. It's my toy so not really a DD. AFE CAI came today and waiting on a couple more coolant hoses and hopefully I'll be back on the road Thursday. Rear output shaft seal and selector shaft seal done, just have to put new flex disc and driveshaft back in, heat shields and then bolt up the exhaust (Monday goal) I'll report back when I fire it back up.
