Anybody have a 36106793122TPMS RDC off the car,I cut a trace in mine wanted to fix it
Went to the car(2012 BMW 328i E92 coupe) at midnight to get the RDC36106793122TPMS(pic1) (underneath the car apron) and open it looking for corrosion, which I didn't find but I ended up removing solder from the 4 contacts of the connector to the board and one I lifted up with some of the green trace. I included pictures from Dropbox and you can zoom in to see the small writing or question marks. Wanted to know if I need to solder any wires to the adjacent green areas of the cut? Thanks in advance. Hope I didn't screw it up. My TPMS codes are 604E RDC system and 6059 Wheel electronics undefined
https://www.dropbox.com/sh/qvg0xnz3x...e7vBDb3Xa?dl=0 I get continuity between the green dots nothing between the purple in picture 4. I see traces between the big solder blob connector with a green dot on it and the purple dotted area to the right with the purple dots. There is continuity. The area that I traced with red right by the purple dot below the plus is lifted and does not connect to anything, must have cut it with the X-acto knife when trying to lift the contact. So I need help from anyone that has this particular RDC(pic1) Last edited by gica; 02-02-2019 at 05:30 PM.. |

I’ve had two of these fail, my car and wife’s car.
Like you I opened them up and looked around. I’m fairly savvy with electronics and can solder, etc. In both cases, I just bought a new module...pre owned. My car, e90, no programming required. Wife’s x3 f05, I had to program the module. |

Is your a E92 328i? Mine looked great inside but I somehow caused the trace to come off. The X3 you said you programmed which was yours that you didn't have to? I know the one I have and there is a picture of it , works on X5s, and other cars that are 2011 and newer. they all have the same numbers just different serials. I didn't check to see if the problem was the wheel sensors yet, should have done that first.

It looks like you hurt the PC board. You can fix it temporarily but it is likely going to fail soon again. You can scrape off the solder mask and bridge the traces with solder. Anyways.... These are sealed units given where these are located near the spray of the tires even though they are mounted behind the underbody panel. My advise is: Just get a new one. Indeed no programming needed.
If you have issues, I would also inspect the RDC central module if you have one. Somewhere in then trunk. I found mine to have the CAN bus pin corroded to the point where one of the pin broke off when I unplugged it. There was no sign of corrosion or water ingress on the outside! I think it is a connector pin plating issue with these modules. Low quality. In my case it gave me CAN bus errors sporadically. What kind of issues are you experiencing? What codes do you have set? |

My TPMS codes are 604E RDC system and 6059 Wheel electronics undefined and I get the annoying TPMS warning light.
It's my son's car and he said the issues started after we changed the tires so I got a FOXWELL NT650 scanner that reads TPMS IDs to check the sensors. I know what you're saying on the 36106793122 module today I looked closer and when I removed it last I broke the little tab that holds it in the connector so I will probably have to get a connector and solder the wires in. I am also trying to set up a laptop for the NCS Expert soft so I can have some flexibility. I used to use the INPA soft but it only goes to 2008. AM trying to figure out how to get what I need to read this 2012 BMW 328i coupe. If you know something about it I'd appreciate the input. |
