Who here has deleted logic7?

Like the title says, I'm looking for feedback from anyone that has actually removed the logic 7 system in favor of a custom system. I am NOT impressed with the sound from the logic 7 system, I have MOST issues causing SOS errors as is, and already had a battery drain scenario happen with a brand new battery that I am convinced came from the amp fan staying on indefinitely.....

I have a pretty good grasp of what needs to be done to remove the system, replace and recode the car as if it had hifi. I am just looking for feedback from anyone who has actually done this themselves to see what snags and hiccups they came across.

Thanks

I think something is wrong with your Logic7, it's a fantastic sounding system when working right. It is the most problematic though.

I've had Hifi, Hifi with Bimmertech PP86dsp, Individual Audio/EPS and Logic7 and the Logic7 sounds light years better than any of the others.

I have changed all EQ settings, went with what was recommended, modified ,etc. It sounds hollow. Its probably because I am running it through the 1/8th" input in the center console, but I don't have bluetooth in my early '07 without idrive. The logic7 system in my wife's land rover comparatively sounds great, but we are running through the actual iPod input in that truck. I can't think of a better way around it aside from removing.

One of the reasons is BMW spec-ed power output is at 10 percent distortion.
That's right 10 percent distortion. I think it across the board in all there stereo systems

see entry 18 look at the chip specs

You can see the specs for there power chips in the above thread.

The mobridge solution in the last link is interesting because you don't have to reprogram the
Head Unit to Hi Fi and it lists decent power. However to get the most out of it you will
have to get New Front speakers at least.

Sorry there are not a lot of examples as it is a can or worms to modify mostly because
of the Most Bus but the Mobridge amp sorta solves that problem.
Something like a 8 channel or greater DSP/AMP or separates will do the job.

The Most Bus modules subject to failure can be bypassed usually but you should know
what they do.
TCU = early bluetooth and SOS for phone only
Mulf 2 or Mulf 2 hi added USB but can used for bluetooth phone to
Combox same as Mulf 2 Hi with the addition of wireless bluetooth when used in
conjunction with the idrive head unit of correct hardware and software level.
Sat Module seems to be the one that fails Most on the Most Bus.
other modules possible like IBOC for Hd radio in early versions and DAB Europe.

Any amp you put in will be awakened by the car waking up .
So that may be the problem you have to solve first.

https://technicpnp.com/ Technic lives and has a shop in Fort Lauderdale I believe.
he is no longer on this board.
He makes a Harness for those the want to rip the L7 out.

Thanks for the last link! I am wanting to change the headunit out as well, and the harness would save me a ton of time in having to produce my own. Not worried about having the amp wake unintentionally as I would be using the remote turn on from the new aftermarket headunit.
