Technic harness questions

2007 e92 with top hifi im adding a couple subs and amps not sure whats needed to connect it all together :

alpine MRP-F450 (4 channel)
memphis 1000d (mono)
alpine [SWR 1242D] type r 12's (x2)

i know im gonna need a technic harness but would i need a 4 channel LOC or a 2 channel and just daisy chain the rca's ? not sure

also by adding this harness would it eliminate the 8's under the seat to give the signal to the amps(alpine+memphis) or would both underseat subs and trunk subs work simultainiously ??

by adding a digital signal processor thats just like adding an external eq right??

any ideas on this from any knowledgeable users/installers would be WICKED PISSA !!!

Technics harness allows you to add a sub and the underseat subs can be powered by an aftermarket amp or by the stock amp.

To amp the front speakers you will need another line output converter. This is the same as the one Technic uses.

Sure you'd have to replace the 2 channel line out converter that comes with Technics harness. There is no difference between using two 2 channel converters or one 4 channel.

In your particular case you will need just a standard harness that you will have to cut and splice to install your aftermarket equipment as you wish. No LOC will be included.

I would suggest an Audiocontrol LC6i as your main active LOC and then connect the amps to it.

im sure i could use the LOC that comes with ur harness "TECHNIC" and just jump from the 2 ch LOC to the alpine amp then rca out to the memphis rca input right? would it drop the voltage to the second amp??

im sure by using audiocontrol lc6i would give balanced voltage to each amp right??

what would the harness minus the LOC cost shipped?

thanks for the help guys its much appreciated effffin BEEMAS !!!

The Logic7 harness/LOC that I sell is only for trunk subs/underseat woofers because only the woofer OEM amp outputs are used.

If you want to amplify the front speakers then the harness by design does not support that -neither I. That's outside the harness purpose and warranty.

Don't overcompicate it. If you get Technic's add a sub harness you can use RCA splitters or the RCA pass through on one of the amps. That will give you the signal for the underseats and trunk sub. You need another 2 channel LOC for the front channels.

Or if you get Technic's harness without a LOC you can use a 4 channel LOC or a lc6i.

Also your going to have to wire your subs at 2 ohms which means that they will only get 500 watts(250 watts each) from your amp. You should get the dual 4 ohm subs so you can wire them at 1 ohm if you haven't already got them.

Ok then you're good on the subs.

You can use either the lc6i, a 4 channel navone LOC, or two 2 channel LOCs. just pick one. The lc6i is the most expensive option, but it might not make that big of a difference. The lc6i is an active line output converter and the navones are passive but both are good quality.

Unfortunately I cannot sell a harness with the expectation that I will have to answer tens of PMs just because you want a custom install. That's the job of a local professional in your area. I already said that I do not support any deviation of the purpose of the harnesses that I sell. None.

Please search for all your answers... they have been posted several times over.

Again, sorry to be blunt but this lack of searching of quite a significant amount of forum members is bothering me for quite some time.

I don't see the big deal in modifying the harness it's only purpose is to allow you to upgrade your audio equipment without cutting up the stock wiring.

I started with logic 7 as well and I have replaced everything including the headunit. My setup is in my signature.

I had the older Type R's in a zenclosures box before which is a rearward facing sealed box. I got alot of rattles and hardly any bass. I ended up blowing the subs.

My current setup is facing forward in a ported box with more power and the newer type r's. No rattles and plenty of bass.

I only have my front speakers, underseat subs, and trunk subs powered. I had an ms8 before and had most of the speakers powered, but I had alot of problems with it. I'm happy with my setup now and my aftermarket headunit does time alignment so I don't really miss the ms8.

back to the post: bmw3251 what do u have installed?

One point that you all are missing from what Technic is saying is that his harness pulls the signal from what is going to the sub and converts it to a low level signal for an amp connection. It is easy to take a high level signal and convert it to a low level signal for an amp that is powering a sub, but you really do not want to do that for something that is supposed to power your highs, good chance for amplifying noise. That is why you see lots of people using some sort of signal processor/cleaner when doing so, little more expense when looking to do something of that sort. Technic creates a super harness, but it is for the purpose of adding sub/woofers only. For what you are asking, be prepared to cough out a few bills...

That's exactly what I'm gonna do with the harness I bought from Technic.

Cut it to hook up my line converter and my stock wires remain intact.
