For installation, should you spray some silicone lube to better sliding in?
Will it cause bushing to move around and is it not good if it does?

I used some silicone grease when I did mine. Silicone won't deteriorate the rubber bushing. I haven't had a problem with the bushing moving around when I did it that way

I started with a Shwaben diff kit and immediately ran into issues with the rear mount.

A trip to hardware store to obtain a 3" PVC coupler solved my issues with a piece of 2x4 in garage:

OK thanks a lot and photos.
Where do you get the shallow brass looking cup? What size?
What size threaded rod and and length?
I'm guessing you'd use the shallow cup for installing.
That was for rear busing.
Did you have to use some lube for inserting?

For 2 front bushings...can you give info on cups sizes, threaded rods length(unless same as rear), etc?
You didn't use metal washers. I do like the shallow cup used as washer would put too much stress inserting.

2x4 is yet another cool idea. Thanks

Differential bushings gone WILD!

Uploaded some images of my bushings gone wild
I drive for now conservatively but dang!
One thing that made it break was accelerating hard and hit a small bumps that shocks the bushings.
I'm shocked that Guibo joint and trans mounts are still good. CSB rubber is cracked but still serviceable.

All 3 are broken and 2 front bushings are out about 1/2" to back from the frame.
Rear one is also broken and bushing looks to be free floating 1/2".

I used the Schwaben diff tool/kit: https://www.ecstuning.com/b-schwaben.../024979sch01a/

It included the bolt, washers, small cup, etc. It works great for the front two bushings but the rear bushing I had to use the PVC coupler and the 2x4.

If you don't pick up the kit, look at what is available locally at hardware store.

I had previously found an Ebay seller that was selling custom press cups but not having luck. There are others on there: https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_fro...ss+cup+bushing

Thanks a lot Derek!
I'll try PVC couplers and metal washers on all bushings with 2x4.
Also silicone spray for inserting into it.
Then I'll apply Windo-Weld into the inner rubbers for max life and holding grip. OEM bushings are too weak for modded. See pics of old bushings backed out 1/2" and all broken.

Right... so... I did not reinstall the OEM bushings. I went with Powerflex. I am not sure how to put them back in, I think you will need some hose clamps or something that can evenly compress the rubber.

(I do not recommend doing this bushing, lots of diff noise... but some people might like it)

Thanks. You've got extensive mods on the rearend with M3 LSD. Nice.
Yeah I won't get into poly bushings...not for me.

Do you still have the kit? Would you be willing to either rent it, or sell it? I'm about to do the job and am going to purchase the kit new if I don't find it elsewhere.

Thanks!
